Where did the time go? We are completing week 7 of the 8-week run of the Harlem Gallery of Science's Exhibition Video Games: The Great Connector at the Harlem School of the Arts. There are only 9 more days before the exhibition closed on March 30th. Through Friday March 15th over 3,300 free tickets to the exhibition were issued, the vast majority for class visits from New York City public schools. To our surprise we have had have a greater number of 3rd to 5th grade classes than we expected. This might be explained by the 3rd to 5th grade division in NYC Department of Education's battle of the Boroughs and the help we received from the directors of the program promoting the exhibition. All the sessions from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday - Friday reserved for the schools are booked. Starting with week 2 81.4% of all the sessions reserved for the schools were booked, some 5 and 6 weeks in advance. The biggest surprise was the number of school visits that were cancelled due to problems with the school buses. I can only image the sad look on kids' faces when they arrive at school ready to visit the video game exhibition only to be told the trip is canceled due to the school bus not showing up. Maybe other colleges or museums in the city would like to host the exhibition. Drop me a note if there in an interest in learning more about this possibility. #videogames, #HGS, #gamingpathways, #Thegreatconnector, #CCNY, #harlemschoolofthearts
