Co-founded by CID's faculty director Asim Ijaz Khwaja, CERP has found success where other research institutions have failed. What's their secret? And how can other institutions learn from CERP's success? Sara Dahiya, Harvard College Class of 2025 In her time as a CID Intern at KRI, Sara enjoyed learning about Malaysia's rapidly growing digital economy and govtech landscape on the weekdays and exploring the country's diverse terrestrial and culinary landscapes on the weekends. Stephanie Hsu, Harvard College Class of 2026 Stephanie has been conducting a cross-country analysis of care economy policies in different countries to help inform future research and policy recommendations for Malaysia. During the World Bank's spring meetings, The World Bank Group and African Development Bank Group announced an ambitious new partnership that aims to provide at least 300 million people in Africa access to electricity by 2030. CID's Lili Vessereau attended the panel "Energizing Africa: What Will it Take to Accelerate Access and Improve Lives?" which highlighted the critical importance of universal electricity access. The panelists emphasized that electricity is a human right, integral to improving health, education, innovation, and economic productivity. To make this vision a reality: 🌟 Decentralized Systems: Off-grid solar solutions are key for remote areas. 🌟 Public Funding & Subsidies: Essential for affordability and fiscal sustainability. 🌟 Collaborative Efforts: Governments, multilateral banks, and the private sector must work together to ensure stable and attractive investments. We had the good fortune of welcoming Patrick Achi, former Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, to CID this past spring as a senior fellow. In the latest from #CIDVoices, recent Harvard Kennedy School School mid-career MPA/ID graduate Daniel Saka Mbumba spoke to Mr. Achi about his time at CID, and what advice he would share with future African leaders.
