Havasu Regional Medical Center is a licensed 171 bed acute care facility fully accredited by The Joint Commission. Providing 24 hour emergency services, it is also a state certified Advanced Life Support Base Hospital, authorizing medical direction and support of pre-hospital care providers, fire department paramedic and ambulance personnel. The facility offers a full complement of patient-centered, community hospital and regional referral services in most major medical disciplines, including open heart and neurosurgery. More than 130 affiliated physicians and allied health professionals comprise the medical staff and represent a broad cross-section of specialty areas. The HRMC Emergency Department came together with Air Methods to celebrate being 100% staffed with local permanent nurses, techs, and paramedics. HRMC has used travel staff to support the local team and the community through the COVID-19 pandemic, which had caused medical personnel shortages. Taylor Barrett, Emergency Department Director, said, "This week marks the first time since then that the ED has been fully staffed with permanent residents of Lake Havasu City who are personally invested in the success of our Emergency Department and providing exceptional patient care." Congratulations to Taylor and the entire HRMC Emergency Department team!

The discussion included how to support hospitals in Mohave County with the resources needed to provide excellent patient care and fulfill our mission of "Making communities healthier."

Congratulations to HRMC's first group of Trumont graduates! Havasu Regional Medical Center has partnered with the Arizona Board of Nursing in collaboration with 17 other hospitals within Arizona to implement new education programs that support the nursing profession across the state through grant funding. As a recipient of this grant, HRMC partnered with a standardized learning platform, Trumont, to support new graduate nurses throughout the first year of nursing. New graduate nurses enter residency and progress through 3 phases of training and over 2100 hours of on-the-job training before receiving their certificate of completion. We are so proud of this stellar group of RNs!

This week, Havasu Regional Medical Center Director of Cardiology Lou Jones, BSN, RN, and CEO Phil Fitzgerald proudly supported Lake Havasu High School Athletics with a donation to purchase two life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). These additional AEDs will allow LHHS to cover the entire campus in the event an individual needs an AED. The purchase of the AEDs will also allow Lake Havasu High School to meet the Arizona Interscholastic Association compliance requirements.

Our HRMC team members attended this year's HCHF Back to School Health Fair to help hand out water bottles, first aid kits, classroom whiteboards, and other items to the students for the year ahead. HRMC is a proud sponsor of this fantastic event, which brings the community together to support our local area students with the essentials they need to succeed. Thank you to pediatricians Carl Satori, MD, and Denise Sartori, DO, for meeting with the community to answer back-to-school health questions!
