We are pleased to share the latest update on the IPI project in Dudley as we progress through week 33 of the 79-week programme. The concrete slab for Area B Level 2 has now been completed, and intumescent painting is currently ongoing on Level 04. Additionally, steel framing system (SFS) works are continuing on the roof parapets. Onsite, solar panels have been successfully installed on the roof of the site cabin, furthering our commitment to sustainability. In terms of key meetings, we have recently held a review of the planning conditions and discussed the fire strategy details, including Building Work in Connection (BWIC). We also had a social value meeting with the CHADD charity and are currently working on the rationalisation of external services groundworks. We are pleased to provide the latest update on the IPI project in Dudley as we progress through week 32 of 79. The metal decking and stud welding have now been completed, marking a significant milestone in the project. Work has also progressed on the concrete slabs in Area B, covering Level 3, Level 4, and the roof. Meanwhile, the installation of temporary power and the site hoist has been installed. Intumescent painting continues, ensuring fire protection measures are in place. Additionally, SFS works are progressing on the roof parapets. Key meetings held this week include discussions on balustrade design development, a Building Control design review, and detailed planning for the roof and masonry elements. A pre-commencement HSEQ meeting took place with RLW, alongside a health, safety, and environmental inspection with VINCI. We look forward to keeping you updated as the project continues to progress. The new University Centre building, Health Innovation Dudley (HID), is a central part of the redevelopment at Castle Hill by delivering a new contemporary gateway into the town centre. It will open-up new views to the Scheduled Ancient Monument of Dudley Castle, and complement the wider conservation area through more appropriate massing and active frontages.   The HID project is adjacent to Dudley Zoo on the west and north sides of the site. Dudley zoo is in its own right, is of particular architectural interest, having the world’s largest single collection of “Tectons”, modernist designs using precast concrete.    Wednesday lunch time was a bright sunshiny day, the perfect weather for the IPT to take a quick lunchtime visit to the zoo. The team were there to view the progress on site from afar, as well as consider innovative solutions to screening solutions to preserve that wonderful view! Oh, and a cheeky peek at the meercats on the way out. Thank you Dudley Zoo! We're pleased to share another update on the progress of the IPI project in Dudley as we reach week 31 of 79. Significant progress has been made on several key areas. The metal decking in Area B is now substantially complete. Additionally, the concrete floor slabs for Area A on Levels 2 and 3 have been successfully completed, further advancing the project’s framework. Work has also commenced on the application of intumescent paint. Meanwhile, SFS works have begun on the roof parapets, contributing to the overall building envelope. In addition to onsite progress, key meetings have taken place. The finishes design development discussions have focused on doors, joinery, and flooring. A pre-commencement HSEQ meeting with Bamboo was also held to reinforce health, safety, environment, and quality standards as we move forward. We’re delighted to share an update on the onsite progress of the IPI project in Dudley as we enter week 30 of 79. Work is progressing well, with metal decking ongoing in Area B. Meanwhile, in Level 2 (Area A) preparations are underway and concrete to roof level and Level 04 (Area A) have also completed. Several key meetings have taken place, covering M&E elevations, small power distribution, and a review of the Building Management System (BMS). Additional reviews have focused on fixtures, fittings, and equipment (FFE), as well as the setting out and scheduling of Builders’ Work in Connection (BWIC). Further progress has been made on Category B works, including the kitchen and photovoltaic (PV) systems. Inspections have also been conducted for Latent Defects Insurance and Building Control compliance inspection.
