We start this issue by looking at a Healthcare Dive article which takes a deep look at a survey of about 75,000 nurses by KLAS Research. The survey found that 33% of nurses reported symptoms of burnout. Then we look at 3 approaches to said burnout: Approach #1: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention burnout toolkit for healthcare leaders and workers. Approach #2: A study diving into how community mental health center WellPower in Colorado successfully reduced documentation time by 60%. Via a Healthcare IT News article. Approach #3: Incoming president and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Health System Peter Slavin, MD describes how he plans to tackle the organization’s “number one pain point” by improving the workplace environment, reducing turnover, and addressing burnout among Cedars-Sinai’s 4,500 doctors and nurses.
