To date, HealthLinc has provided 25,571 rides for our patients to get to and from their healthcare services, all thanks to Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and their partnership with Uber. 🚗 Without this partnership, patients who have limited or no access to transportation would not have been able to get the health care they need, both at HealthLinc and with other specialty providers. Thank you, LISC, for all you do to help us fulfill our mission to create healthy communities! 💙
“I’m not sure what would have happened to my patient if LISC’s program didn’t exist,” says Dr. Michael Kozak, a family medicine physician with HealthLinc Community Health Center in South Bend, Indiana. Dr. Kozak is referring to LISC’s Health Access Fund, which provides free access to non-emergency medical transportation through a partnership with Uber. The program serves people who lack access to reliable transportation, helping them get to and from the destinations that contribute to their health and wellbeing. To date, 23 organizations – including Dr. Kozak’s – have booked close to 320,000 Uber rides for people in 88 counties across 23 states.
