Last week, Healthy Oilseeds tested a brown flaxseed variety from the 1950s and 1960s as we search for flax with unique characteristics. This variety has potential as a dual-purpose crop, suitable for both grain and fiber. Did you know the US dollar is made from a blend of cotton and flax? However, the flax used is a fiber variety not currently grown in the U.S. Imagine the impact if we developed a flaxseed variety here that could be used in our very own US currency! 💵 #flax #hemp #agriculture

Did you know that hemp could be a game-changer for bees? 🐝 Research shows that hemp flowers, especially those grown for grain and fiber, offer a critical pollen source for honey bees, particularly during late summer when other plants have stopped blooming. By incorporating hemp into agricultural practices, we not only support our pollinators but also promote biodiversity and sustainable farming. 🌱 #hemp #honeybee #flax
