I'm excited to announce that Hempitecture has been awarded $8.4m from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) ⚡⚡ WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic Investing in America agenda, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced $428 million for 14 projects to accelerate domestic clean energy manufacturing in 15 coal communities across the United States. The projects, led by small-and medium-businesses in communities with de-commissioned coal facilities, were selected by DOE’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) to address critical energy supply chain vulnerabilities. In a historic move for the U.S. hemp industry, 26 delegates representing a range of companies and organizations recently participated in a groundbreaking trade mission to Japan. The group attended the inaugural Tokyo International Hemp Conference, visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo for a high-profile meeting, and engaged in the Asia Hemp Entrepreneur Program (AHEP). The mission also included a visit to a revered 8th-generation farm that produces Golden Hemp, a prized natural fiber traditionally used in Shinto temples and Sumo wrestling rituals to purify the ring before combat. The trade mission was organized by the National Industrial Hemp Council of America (NIHC), which received a $750,000 RAPP (Regional Agriculture Promotion Program) grant earlier this year from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grant supports trade and export initiatives for U.S. hemp businesses and farmers. The NIHC coordinated the delegation of U.S. hemp industry executives and stakeholders to foster collaboration with the growing Japanese hemp market. The U.S. hemp industry is making a significant global move this September as a delegation of 26 leaders, companies, and academic institutions heads to Japan for the first-ever Tokyo International Hemp Conference. Scheduled for September 24-26, this groundbreaking event is hosted by the Japan Industrial Hemp Association (JIHA) and focuses on the future of hemp and cannabinoid-related research and industry. The National Industrial Hemp Council of America is leading this U.S. delegation, thanks to a competitive grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP).
