Sharing something personal here on LinkedIn, but it's for an important reason... My world came to a standstill at the end of June when my Dada (grandfather) suffered a massive heart attack. It marked the beginning of the end for him. My brother and I spent five days by his side, day and night, in the hospital — reminiscing about old memories, looking through photos, and holding his frail, gentle hand, not wanting to let go. On 2nd July 2024, Dada passed away peacefully at the age of 92. I've heard "He had a good innings" more times than I can count, and while it's true, it doesn't make it any easier. He lived a full life, and I'm grateful for that but I will miss him forever. Dada had a fall at home on Christmas Day last year, which we believe triggered the onset of his dementia — he just wasn’t the same afterwards. He wasn’t officially diagnosed until June 26th, six months after his fall and a day before he had a heart attack. The journey to that diagnosis was incredibly challenging, but I won’t delve into the details here. Coming to terms with this loss has been incredibly tough. Those who know me are aware that I’m always working, whether it’s my day job or Her Game Too, but after this I felt completely numb. I still can’t talk about it in depth without breaking down, and I’m not sure if I ever will. But I wanted to channel my grief into something positive and I'm so pleased that we've been able to do just that! 💙✨ In Dada’s memory, we began fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society and I'm incredibly proud to share that we’ve raised an amazing £740 so far. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our wonderful friends and family. The incredible team at The Redmen TV also selected my campaign as their 'Charity of the Month,' promoting it daily throughout August. Their support means the world to me. At his funeral, we shared stories of how he quietly donated to charities, temples, and other causes, never seeking recognition. He didn’t want his name on a plaque — he just wanted to do his part. That was our Dada ❤️

Time for... 💙 HER GAME TOO RUGBY 💙 After successful Her Game Too Football and Cricket stalls over the summer - our Bristol Bears ambassador, Kirsty Mitchell, smashed her first ever Rugby stall! In collaboration with FRAMPTON COTTERELL RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB - we celebrated their Girls Takeover Day with lots of Her Game Too merchandise and activity sheets for kids! ✏ Congratulations to Olivia, who won best kit design! Our word searches contained names of players from Bristol Bears Men and Bristol Bears Women. Subtle things to promote togetherness and inclusivity can work really well. 💙 It was a cracking day with lots of young girls feeling inspired to take up rugby! 🏉 🌟
