Did you know that Cleo offers cancer care support? 💡 One in two employers say cancer is the number one driver of healthcare costs, and 86% say it’s among their top three. Cancer can upend employees’ entire lives. The complexities and disjointed threads of everything along the cancer journey — from prevention and screening to diagnosis to treatment, remission, and monitoring, to keeping up with life responsibilities such as career and caregiving, to the emotional toll throughout all of this — can leave employees and their families confused and unclear where to turn. With Cleo, members have that place to turn. Our cancer care experts and support can connect the dots along the cancer care journey while holding all of a member’s needs holistically to offer personalized, cohesive care. Learn more here:

This is one of the best summaries of the connection between mental health and caregiving that we've seen: "While focusing on stress reduction in the workplace may seem to be a logical strategy for addressing the problem, programs designed to directly affect stress levels have had mixed results. However, targeting a key source of stress for working parents — child care precarity, the state of unreliable and insecure child care — will have a real impact." It's #NICUAwarenessMonth. How many of you know someone who has had an NICU experience? 🙋♂️ We stand by NICU families every day, whether they're preparing for a known NICU stay or navigating the challenges of an unexpected one. A recent third-party observational study revealed that only 13.1% of Cleo-supported birthing families required NICU care, compared to 19.4% of non-Cleo families. Additionally, Cleo families who did have a NICU stay experienced an average stay of just 3.1 days — significantly shorter than the 7.6-day average for non-Cleo families. Fewer NICU admissions and shorter stays not only eases the burden on families, of course, but also deliver significant cost savings for employers. Yet another win/win for supporting parents, caregivers, and families.💡

Let's talk about how the Sandwich Generation has (at least) three jobs. Because of their sky-high anxiety levels, employees in the #SandwichGeneration place a huge amount of value in certain benefits—much more than other kinds of workers. While 20% of non-caregiving employees find childcare and caregiving support “extremely valuable,” that number rises to 58% for the sandwich folks. 🥪 When you have 3 jobs as a parent, caregiver, AND employee, support benefits become a NECESSITY.

"We’re not going to solve the burnout crisis overnight, but we can start by demanding more from the organisations we work for and more from ourselves. Leaders need to step up and take responsibility for the cultures they create." We hear about burnout all the time, but as it's still an issue it bears repeating: Often an employee doesn't realize they're burnt out until it's too late. But there is another way. What if an employee could take an assessment that took into account every facet of their lives -- both at home and at work -- and helped predict when they were at risk of burnout? 69% of members initially identified as higher-risk for burnout improve after engaging with Cleo. Let us help do the same for your employees.

#WorldAlzheimersDay is tomorrow. Let's talk about how this affects employers. At Cleo, we’ve seen firsthand the immense stress Alzheimer’s and Dementia places on caregivers and their families. Watching a loved one decline mentally and physically, managing 24/7 care, not finding time to take care of oneself or one’s family, and facing financial strain all contribute to immense caregiver burnout. The impact extends beyond just personal costs. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, caregiver absenteeism costs U.S. employers $10.234 billion, and total productivity losses reach $18.004 billion. Caregivers are often balancing careers while providing critical care, often at great personal and financial sacrifice. Of all of our Cleo members caring for an adult, more than a third of them are on the Alzheimer’s and Dementia LifePath -- it's our top requested support. By understanding these caregivers' unique needs and delivering evidence-based interventions, we make our greatest impact: helping families navigate this challenging journey. That alleviates stress, reduces unnecessary medical spend, and creates space for the caregiver to be able to live their own life, too. This World Alzheimer’s Day, let’s recognize the crucial role caregivers play and provide them with the resources and support they deserve -- both at home and at work.

Let's talk #ROI for employers this #SelfCareAwarenessMonth: Taking care of yourself is not a luxury, it's a necessity. In the same vein, taking care of your employees is not a luxury. It's a necessity. We know that self-care is essential for maintaining both mental and physical well-being, especially for parents and caregivers. When self-care is neglected, it affects more than just individual health—it impacts productivity, focus, and the ability to be present at work and at home. There's real data here, as well: 50.4% of Cleo parents report being at low or at-risk levels of self-care. It’s no surprise—most caregivers focus on work, family, and home before getting to themselves, if at all. But here's the good news: Change is possible. After engaging with Cleo’s support and resources, high-risk members report improving their self-care by an average of 15% at their next follow-up. 💪 That means ROI for companies: Less medical spend, less chance of burnout, less chance of absences or dropping work altogether. When employees practice self-care, they show up at work more focused, energized, and engaged. Employers who support self-care see improvements in retention, productivity, and overall workplace well-being.💡 Caring for others starts with caring for oneself. Cleo will help you find that balance for your workforce.
