Your company brand should suck… At least for a lot of people, and that’s a good thing. There’s a great quote from the famous philosopher Wayne Campbell in Wayne’s World, “Led Zepplin didn’t write tunes that everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.” There should be a lot of candidates that see your company, get your messaging, read what’s it like to work there and say, “neh, that’s not for me.” If you try and create a company brand that is right for everyone, it’s not going to do anything to attract the right ones.
