3 STEPS you can take to make your hiring process more comfortable and confident: STEP 1: Be available and easy to communicate with and ensure that you are accessible to candidates, responding promptly to their inquiries and maintaining open lines of communication throughout the hiring process. STEP 2: Share relevant and reliable information and provide candidates with all the necessary details about the job role, company culture, and expectations. This transparency helps people feel informed and confident. STEP 3: Encourage healthy and productive connections to foster a welcoming environment that encourages candidates to connect not only with the hiring team but also with potential future colleagues. This can help them gain a better understanding of the workplace dynamics and culture. #recruitingwithpurpose

Skills over degrees is a great place to start!
Did you know that 80% of hiring managers believe refugees have the right skills and experience for the job? Yet, many of them are overlooked because they lack traditional credentials. It's time to shift our focus from degrees to skills. Having more diverse hiring leads to more innovation and stronger performance — a benefit to us all! 10 Visuals that will change the way you think. Shift how you perceive things. Thank you to Pejman Milani for these fantastic visuals 🔥 1. Writing > Thinking ↳ Writing your thoughts down creates clarity. ↳ A clear mind is sharper, more productive, and more effective. 2. Managing vs leadership ↳ A manager restricts you, whereas a leader guides you. ↳ Leaders make a real impact, whereas managers only make decisions. 3. Don’t use fancy words ↳ Simple sells. Using complicated language only limits you. ↳ The goal should be to make people understand your thought process. 4. The power of purpose ↳ It’s perfectly normal to experience imposter syndrome. ↳ But once you find your purpose you will be able to push past it. 5. The truth about failure ↳ Failure is never a bad thing as long as you learn. ↳ Shift your mindset to view failure as an opportunity. 6. Storytelling and its impact ↳ The impact of a story depends on how you tell it. ↳ Storytelling is one of the highest-leverage skills you can build. 7. Resourcefulness is key ↳ Most of us have access to the right tools yet won’t use them. ↳ Be resourceful and leverage these tools to help you unlock success. 8. Clarity with writing ↳ Writing stops you from being stuck in your own thoughts. ↳ Even 5 minutes can make a huge difference to your clarity levels. 9. Complete creativity ↳ Creativity can come from anything, not just your positivity. ↳ Embrace all emotions and learn to leverage them to your advantage. 10. Fill your cup first ↳ You have to be at your best to give your best to others. ↳ It’s much easier to help others when you are feeling great yourself. 10 truly incredible lessons. Giving you the perspective to change your life. Which visual was your favourite? Let me know in the comments ⬇️ ♻️ Repost this to share this sheet with your network. Honesty is the best policy. Except in an interview. Try this instead: Tactful honesty. Tactful honesty means that you are speaking the truth, but phrasing it to resonate with & not offend your audience. Successful interactions are built on trust. ⇢ Building trust takes time. And in interviews, time is a luxury ⇢ you don't have. In the absence of trust & credibility you need a game plan to bridge the interviewer's learning curve on you. Quickly bridge the gap with these steps: 1️⃣ Have a killer resume - build “paper credibility” by optimizing it for the firewalls it must pass. ↳ 1st - HR software bots &/or recruiters: pack in relevant keywords from the job description. ↳ 2nd - Hiring leader: help them contextualize why you're a rockstar in your field. ___________ 2️⃣ Practice self-awareness - know your strengths AND limitations & be prepared to speak to them. ↳ Be clear on why this role is perfect for you - your strengths & abilities, your excitement for growth, etc. ↳ Be clear on why you’re perfect for them - do some internet stalking on the company to discern culture & strategic priorities. ___________ 3️⃣ Polish your social awareness - know how to read a room & adjust accordingly. ↳ Research the interviewers - if you can, find out more about their backgrounds, professions, etc. ⇢ Incorporate learnings in your answers. ↳ Use your intuition - when you pick up a vibe in an interview, pull on the thread. Ask for the "it" factor they're looking for & explain how you can deliver. ___________ 4️⃣ Turn up your humility & credibility - know how to sell yourself in a kind way. ↳ Back up your resume - have concise, action- packed stories* ready that correlate to your resume achievements. ↳ Show humility - strike a balance between your contributions & your team's achievements. Work in gratitude for everything you’ve been through to get to where you are. ___________ For step 1️⃣ - the anatomy of a killer resume is an art. Use this cheat sheet to deconstruct the art. Apply the concepts to uplift your own resume & when reviewing candidate resumes to find diamonds in the rough. Remember - Don’t rely on vanity metrics to make a great 1st impression & don’t be so blinded by vanity metrics that you miss the diamonds. 💎 *I recommend the STAR method. More about that here: https://lnkd.in/g9AVUR7z P.S. I don't have a resume service but I do help clients with their resumes as part of my leadership coaching if they need it. 🤓 _____________ ♻️ Repost to educate your network. ➕ Follow me for more thought-provoking leadership tips. 🎁 Get your FREE Infographic Collection here: https://lnkd.in/gn49Gq4B

Owner and Founder @ Bluebox Professionals | Helping people save time, develop teams, and boost revenue
The 13 Virtues of Benjamin Franklin As one of the United States' founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin paved a path like few others. His contributions to science, society, and government have left an everlasting mark on history. The 13 virtues developed by Franklin are noble guidelines we can all live by. Ironically, there is a bit of hypocrisy built into this, as there are many accounts, including those from Franklin himself, that demonstrate he didn't always follow these virtues in his own personal life. Nevertheless, I believe these virtues were a way for Franklin to help others avoid some of the pitfalls he may have experienced in his life. A lot can be said for someone who is willing to recognize their own personal faults and misgivings in order to help others do the same. You can see this in Franklin's contributions to science and his servitude towards society. Just the lightning rod contribution he offered immediately into the public domain saved countless lives. Perhaps some of his late-night parties in Paris helped establish a future for this country beyond bureaucrats and politicians in the chambers of government. The purpose of this post is to share each virtue daily while opening up the opportunity for discussion.

If I needed a new job ASAP, this is the 5-step process I’d use to create interview opportunities: Step 1. Get career clarity -List the problems I enjoy solving -List the focus areas I’m passionate about -List my top skills and experiences -Set targets for: compensation, work location, role responsibility, and industry Step 2. Identify a target audience -Research and select my top job roles -Align roles with skills & target criteria -Use levels[.]fyi for comp research -List out 10-15 firms hiring for my target roles, that match my target criteria -Use Reddit, Blind, Glassdoor, and Fishbowl for company research Step 3. Rebrand my ‘value proposition’ -Identify 5-7 attractive accomplishments that would interest my new target audience -Prompt ChatGPT to write a new LinkedIn headline, and About me section -Rewrite my LinkedIn profile with new info, skills, accomplishments, and results Step 4. Create content to generate traffic -Get a Taplio account to organize my content and lead generation strategy -Chose 5 post topics in my target space -Identify 10-15 creators making similar content -Use Taplio to brainstorm, draft, and schedule out 2-3 targeted posts per week -Leave insightful, value-added comments on creator posts every day -Rinse and repeat for 3-4 weeks Step 5. Network with who shows up -Use Taplio to automatically import everyone who likes/comments on my content into a list -Connect with those who engage and start building relationships - Work to network with people at my companies of interest -Send targeted materials to key contacts -Resumes, pitch decks, intro videos - - - And that’s how I’d start if I had no pre-existing contacts at my target companies. Let me know what you think of this strategy. Is this something you would try?

Avoid fancy designs. 3. Address: Mention your city, but don’t include your full home address. 4. Objective Statement: Replace vague statements with clear highlights of your skills and achievements. 5. Social Media: Don’t include personal social media with unprofessional content.
