Hirsch Electric is honored to be the electrical contractor recently selected for two very distinct upcoming projects at Johns Hopkins.
The Henrietta Lacks Building will be a new 34,000 sqft, five floor, steel and concrete building on the Hopkins main hospital campus. "Named in honor of Henrietta Lacks, the Baltimore County woman whose cells, known as HeLa cells, have advanced medicine around the world, from the development of the polio vaccine to the study of HPV, HIV/AIDS, and leukemia", this architecturally unique building will house flexible program and classroom spaces.
The JHU school of Education is a 73,000 sqft remodel of the former Seton High School building. The school was originally constructed in 1865 and presents all of the challenges of working in an old wooden structure with plaster finishes. Once completed, "the renovated School of Education will provide a flexible environment for students, faculty, staff and researchers and serve as a suitable home of the School of Education for many years to come."
