𝗦𝗛𝟮𝗔𝗠𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗞 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 Galway, known as the City of Tribes, welcomed the SH2AMROCK project Tribe on December 12, 2024. In the coming four years the 26 SH2AMROCK partners seek to establish the first Hydrogen Community in Ireland, uniting local producers, distributors, and users with foreign expertise. The initiative is part of the EU Clean Hydrogen Partnership's goal to create 50 Hydrogen Valleys in Europe by 2030 and SH2AMROCK will be the first replication project utilizing first experiences in other locations and connecting the first Hydrogen Valleys on the EU Rhine Mediterranean transport corridor.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of moderating the #Mobility Conference at the Foresight Hydrogen Live 2025 event at the rather lovely and historic Titanic Hotel on Liverpool's Stanley Dock. We had a range of great presentations including early stage vehicle development to real world, real life #hydrogen vehicles on the roads; and covered refuelling, vans, HGVs, maritime vehicles and looked at longer term application of hydrogen in aviation, all wrapped up with lively and engaging panel discussions. An enjoyable day but pretty frustrating how we are stuck facing many of the same challenges we have been facing for the last 10+ years around cost, policy and the dreaded 'chicken and egg'.... In the hydrogen space we have really excelled at demonstrating how 'perfection is the enemy of the good'. It's high time that technologies that can act as a bridge are embraced and supported by policy makers - never more so than in the mobility sector where options exist today which can get us all or part of the way to #zeroemission mobility, they just are not always fuel cells! Fantastic to meet up with old colleagues and any reason is a good reason to be back in the North West. Today the Clean Hydrogen Innovation Programme (CHIP) announced the launch of its first innovation projects designed to address critical challenges within the hydrogen supply chain.   CHIP is a multi-year Joint Industry Programme, led by the Carbon Trust in collaboration with Levidian, National Gas Transmission, ScottishPower and SSE plc, supported by the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.   The programme focuses on delivering the technological advancements needed to accelerate the development of the midstream clean hydrogen sector.
