At the Carbon Trust, we are committed to driving the transition to Net Zero for businesses, governments, and financial institutions. However, we must also drive our own transition to Net Zero. Today, we are proud to share our Net Zero report, detailing our journey so far and the road ahead. Achieving deep emissions cuts isn't always easy, but it can be done: https://lnkd.in/gv7Mt_Sa

How can supermarkets accelerate to Net Zero? 🛒 Supermarkets sit at the heart of a food system which is responsible for up to a third of global emissions. Our latest report examines the Net Zero plans and commitments of the world’s top ten supermarkets. The findings? While progress is being made, emissions from food production remain the toughest challenge, and biggest opportunity. With global warming already impacting supermarket prices and supplies, read the full report to see how the sector can move faster ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eZDu7tMB

What is the impact of recent geopolitical challenges on the energy transition? Last week at our Energy Transition Acceleration Forum 2025, we hosted a session on whether geopolitics is a hindrance or a catalyst to progress. As Bernice Lee OBE from Chatham House noted, “the energy transition has continued to happen”, even in the absence of a consistent approach from the U.S. Despite political shifts and the headwinds that this creates for the transition, market forces are moving in the right direction and the energy transition continues. 📽️ Watch the full geopolitics panel and all of the sessions from #ETAF25 to see how we can accelerate the energy transition and drive meaningful change across the whole system: https://lnkd.in/eqy3unUz

AI and digital technology are key enablers in delivering the global energy transition at the pace and scale we need. 💻 At our Energy Transition Acceleration Forum 2025, Adam Elman from Google shared his excitement about AI’s role, saying, “it’s not a silver bullet in the energy transition, but it plays a fundamental role. If you're not using AI or thinking about it as part of your journey, go and start exploring.” While we recognise that there are challenges to be considered in the energy consumption that AI generates, a more holistic strategy—linking energy, AI, and infrastructure—will be crucial for the long term. 📽️ Watch the full panel on the role of AI in the energy transition and all #ETAF25 sessions here: https://lnkd.in/eqy3unUz

The energy transition isn't just about reducing emissions—it’s about creating a future that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. At last week’s Energy Transition Acceleration Forum 2025, we explored how a whole systems approach is key to achieving the scale and speed needed. 🌍 One crucial component is society and achieving a just transition. While often seen as an add-on that requires separate investment and focus to ensure that the energy transition is people-centric. Our expert Kate Hooper highlights that “we lose sight of the fact that there is a lot already happening, across different policy areas and sectors, that can be drawn upon to drive out the critically important social benefits of the transition.” 📽️ Watch the full panel and all of the sessions from #ETAF25 to see how we can accelerate the energy transition and drive meaningful change across the whole system: https://lnkd.in/eqy3unUz
