The new Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility is a great example of the clean energy transition. Opened recently, in the UK's most easterly town by Secretary of State for Energy Ed Miliband, the centre will support operations and maintenance for the offshore wind industry. Helping to provide new highly skilled jobs and investment into the local region. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/epis6r4P Associated British Ports

At COP29, the UK announced an ambitious target to reduce all greenhouse gas emissions by at least 81% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels. This target is our Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement, and it is in our national interest; homegrown, clean British energy will help us tackle the climate crisis and free us from relying on volatile fossil fuel markets. Today, we submitted further detail behind our NDC headline target to the UN Climate Change – ahead of the 10 Feb deadline set by the Paris Agreement. Learn more 👇 https://lnkd.in/eR4jCDiE

The Regional Skills Pilot aims to support British workers across four regions. Funding could go towards new training centres, courses or career advisers - supporting local people into opportunities in industries such as welding, electrical engineering, and construction. The Energy Skills Passport tool will support offshore workers right across the UK. Those seeking to move from the oil and gas sector will be able to identify transferable skills by accessing the skills passport online 👷♀️✅ We caught up with workers from OW Ocean Winds, Statkraft and RWE to find out why they decided to make the transition to working in renewable energy and how others can follow in the same footsteps. Read more about the plans here 👇 https://lnkd.in/ei672-53

Routine checks have identified cases of poor quality solid wall insulation work through the Energy Company Obligation and Great British Insulation schemes. We have taken immediate action, with 39 businesses suspended. These installers must now fix affected homes. No household should be asked to pay money by an installer. https://lnkd.in/geGeG8vr
