It's been a rough few years for HOA Managers and Board members. Rising costs of labor and materials have made increasing HOA dues an unfortunate reality.  But what if there was a line item in your budget that could actually help you lower the financial burden on homeowners? That's where pavement preservation comes in. Hear from the Treasurer of the Lone Mountain community in Cave Creek, Arizona, about why they ultimately chose to utilize HA5 High Density Mineral Bond and how it has saved their homeowner's money. #arizona #roads #streets #hoa #asphalt https://lnkd.in/gxtzA7BA

  • Not all surface treatments are considered equal. As asphalt deteriorates, the needs of the roads change. That's why a well-rounded pavement preservation strategy should focus on keeping good roads in good condition but also include other solutions in the "toolbox" for when the condition of the asphalt degrades. The key to extending the life of your asphalt is using the right treatment on the right road at the right time. Neglecting this can result in premature deterioration, leading to wasted spend on surface treatments and costly repairs down the road. If you're unsure which solutions are right for your roads, reach out for a pavement assessment. We can help you tailor a preservation strategy that maximizes the life of your asphalt assets and protects your budget. #pavementpreservation #roads #streets #publicworks #hoa

  • Taking proactive measures early is the most effective way to maximize the lifespan of asphalt. Research by the Foundation for Pavement Preservation shows that most oxidative aging occurs within the first 2-4 years of an asphalt surface’s life. During this time, essential oils in the asphalt are depleted, reducing its flexibility and increasing the likelihood of cracks and other damage. By acting early, you can significantly reduce oxidative aging caused by UV exposure and moisture, delivering the best return on investment. Thousands of communities have extended the lifespan of their asphalt and lowered long-term costs by using HA5 High Density Mineral Bond. • Selecting the right pavement preservation treatment is essential to extending the life of your asphalt. Here’s a clear example of how two surface treatments performed over time: On the left, we have a Premium Polymer Emulsion Sealer (seal coat). On the right, we see the results of HA5 High-Density Mineral Bond. Both treatments were applied just days apart under similar conditions. Fast forward four years, and the difference is striking. While the seal coat has nearly worn away, the HA5 continues to protect the asphalt by shielding it from UV rays and moisture. When it was time for the Heather Ridge HOA in Central Florida to preserve their asphalt assets, they had a pretty good idea of what they DIDN'T want. They didn't want a short-term surface treatment that would have to be redone in the next year or two. So what did they do? Well, after completing thorough due diligence, the Board decided to move away from traditional seal coats and try HA5 High Density Mineral Bond. Hear why how the board ultimately made their decision: https://lnkd.in/g_GKsPXM #pavementpreservation #florida #hoa #roads #streets

  • It comes as no surprise that the city who is home to Utah's burgeoning tech scene is also one of the state's leaders in pavement preservation. Lehi is widely known as the home of the Silicon Slopes, but many don't consider the infrastructure challenges that have accompanied its explosive growth. The city's population increased by a staggering 60% from 2010 to 2020. As they built new infrastructure to accommodate the influx of workers and businesses, they also realized that preservation was going to be key to their continued success. Today, Lehi uses a variety of tools in their pavement preservation toolbox, including HA5 High Density Mineral Bond, to extend the life of their streets. HA5 is designed to slow the oxidative aging of asphalt by working to block UV and moisture intrusion. By adopting a proactive strategy, Lehi is ensuring that they are achieving the maximum extension of asphalt life throughout the city and reducing asphalt ownership costs. #pavementpreservation #assetmanagement #infrastructure #roads #streets #asphaltmaintenance #publicworks #utah #siliconslopes #engineering #civilengineering

  • Have you ever wondered how HA5 High Density Mineral Bond performs against other surface treatments? In 2020 a city we work with decided to run a test between HA5 High Density Mineral Bond and a premium seal coat. The city's team selected a suitable street for the test and applied the seal coat product and HA5 within two weeks of each other in similar conditions. You can see below that immediately after the application, the seal coat actually has a deeper black appearance and looks slightly better than the HA5. However, the real question is how has each treatment performed over time and which ultimately provided the most value. Continue scrolling through the images, and you can see them for yourself. After the initial, the seal coat arguably looked better. But looks aren't everything. 4 years later we revisited the project to see how the HA5 and the premium seal coat held up. We discovered that the seal coat was virtually gone while the HA5 is still there, continuing to provide protection and cost savings for the underlying pavements even after 4 years. #pavementpreservation #publicworks #infrastructure #engineering #innovation #performance #assetmanagement
