In our last post, we shared a video describing living wage. Living wages are the foundation of economic mobility. A living wage provides a stable foundation for individuals and families to improve their economic circumstances. When people can afford basic necessities, they have the resources to invest in education, training, and other opportunities that can lead to higher-paying jobs and improved quality of life. Econofact asked how much does income change from one generation to the next. Their podcast discussed the United States’ low levels of economic mobility, the differences in intergenerational economic mobility across demographic groups, and how there are “bottlenecks” that keep generations in their respective economic categories that cannot be explained by natural abilities between parents and children. You can listen to the podcast at https://ow.ly/m1L350TkcPI. #advanceandthrive #greenvillesc #yeahthatgreenville #livingwage #economicmobility

At Hollingsworth, we believe that accessing and advancing in a career that pays a living wage is essential to improving economic mobility. Our primary goal is to strengthen pathways to career opportunities that pay a living wage and build assets for low-income communities, with an emphasis on Black and Hispanic/Latinx people. Yet, people often ask us what is a living wage. This video, https://ow.ly/GiVH50Tkc69 explains living wages. We align all our resources and join forces with our community to move from an economy that works for some to a just one that works for all. #advanceandthrive #greenvillesc #yeahthatgreenville #livingwage
