What makes Clemson, South Carolina — home to Clemson University — the nation's Best Small College Town? 🎓 In addition to being a charming town located in a favorable climate, it’s a joyous, welcoming community. One example: The Shepherd Hotel in downtown Clemson provides employment opportunities to participants in the ClemsonLIFE program, which prepares students with intellectual disabilities for employment and independent living. "Clemson is a place where a welcoming spirit stemming from its humble beginnings intersect with the excitement of tomorrow and the possibilities that lie ahead,” says commercial property developer Rich Davies, one of the partners in The Shepherd Hotel. https://bit.ly/4eHNSxz #BestCollegeTowns #ClemsonSC

“Together with Redwood Materials, BMW is laying the groundwork for the creation of a fully circular battery supply chain in the U.S.," said Denise Melville, head of sustainability for BMW of North America. “We have said before that the future of BMW was electric, digital and circular, and this agreement brings us a step closer to meeting that goal.” Redwood Materials, which is building a $3.5 billion battery recycling plant in Berkeley County, will get end-of-life batteries from BMW's U.S. network of more than 700 locations for use in recycling programs that recover critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt and nickel. Those minerals can then be used for production of new batteries powering electric vehicles. It's an example of how South Carolina's mobility ecosystem is evolving with technology, demand and sustainability. https://bit.ly/3BgaiaA #Sustainability #EVs

What a *sweet* time we had at our Women’s Networking Event at the Truist Culinary & Hospitality Innovation Center (CHI), a facility of Greenville Technical College. 🍪 Director Jessica Allendorf kicked us off with insights on how CHI is bridging the gap between local job opportunities and Greenville’s booming food scene. Inside CHI’s full-service educational kitchen, we got creative with Pastry Chef Farren Smith — building macaroons, decorating sugar cookies and even sampling some of Chef Farren’s signature cookies. Big thanks to the 50 women who joined us for treats, networking and great company! #WomenInBusiness #WomenInLeadership #CulinaryEducation
