We were proud to have our VP of Strategy and Development represent the Pennsylvania Homecare Association and its 700+ members at the Pennsylvania State Senate's Aging and Youth Committee hearing. As part of this crucial testimony, the focus was on finding a balanced approach to safeguard patients without creating additional burdens on caregivers and the home care system. At Honor Health Network and Angels On Call PA, we are committed to advocating for solutions that not only protect our vulnerable populations but also ensure the continued sustainability of the caregiving workforce. Thank you to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association for championing this cause and for giving us the platform to voice these critical concerns. Read PHA's testimony: https://lnkd.in/gTbfYiBG
🚨 ADVOCACY ALERT: While PA faces a caregiver shortage, proposed #OAPSA fingerprinting requirements could worsen delays in home-based care hiring. These changes may cost the state $11.6 million in Medicaid funds annually for redundant fingerprinting checks that add little value beyond existing criminal background processes. The result? Slower hiring times and reduced access to care for over 440,000 Pennsylvanians, further straining an industry in crisis. At yesterday’s joint Pennsylvania State Senate hearing, Catharine Weaber (Rambler), President of PHA's Board, addressed the Aging and Youth Committee, advocating for a more balanced approach that safeguards patients while preventing undue strain on caregivers and the home care system. 📄Read PHA's testimony below: https://lnkd.in/gTbfYiBG 🎦 Watch the hearing (Aging & Youth Committee testimony begins at 1:54:00) https://lnkd.in/gSvgkMcn Judy Ward Maria Tzanakis Collett Cody Jones Honor Health Network
