This vital investment will provide safe and stable living environments for those in need, helping survivors rebuild their lives. “The Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center is proud to announce the launch of our Empowering Paths Housing Assistance and Employment Solutions program, thanks to this generous grant. This initiative will provide critical transitional housing assistance and comprehensive employment counseling for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking in Summit and Medina counties. In partnership with Goodwill Industries, we aim to empower survivors on their path to independence, offering trauma-informed support services that foster long-term stability.   • 📢 We are excited to announce that Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center has been awarded a $349,556 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women, secured by U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13)! This funding will help us engage men and boys as allies in preventing violence against women and girls in Summit County. Together, we will: - Raise awareness about gender-based violence. - Train male leaders using the "Respect Curriculum." - Empower boys to become advocates for prevention in schools and beyond. The 9th Annual Responding to the Needs of Victims Conference, presented by the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, will take place on Friday, September 13th, starting at 8:30 AM. The training will cover: Signs and Symptoms of Strangulation, Intimate Partner Violence and Predominant Aggressor Determination, Identifying and Documenting Strangulation, Trauma-Informed Interviewing and Report Writing, and Promoting Systems Collaboration. By participating in these programs, we can ensure that you are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to address the unique needs of victims and provide them with the support they deserve. This event was approved by the Ohio Peace Office Commission, offering 6 credit hours to law enforcement.
