Sustainability spotlight: A collaborative effort for community well-being! Horizon Auto Logistics in Mexico took a significant step in strengthening its community engagement by launching a comprehensive program of activities. This initiative was the result of a collaborative effort to understand and address the specific needs of the Mataloma community.  In just one day, 21 volunteer employees conducted surveys with 107 residents, gathering valuable insights directly from the community. Key priorities identified included physical activity sessions, recreational opportunities, cognitive exercises, health campaigns, reforestation projects, and job fairs.  To ensure the program's relevance and impact, the volunteers developed a detailed proposal based on these findings. The launch was promoted widely through social media, park notices, and neighborhood announcements. Implementing the program involved not only Horizon employees but also local social groups and government representatives, fostering a multi-stakeholder approach that facilitated execution, built trust, and encouraged collaboration.  The activities were designed to be diverse andinclusive, addressing a wide range of community interests and needs. The global automotive terminals and logistics provider have entered the Turkish market effective September 2024 through its branch Horizon Auto Logistics. Türkiye is a significant automotive player on a global scale, producing about 1.4M vehicles annually, making them the 12th largest auto manufacturer globally. The country exports more than 1M vehicles to international markets, which is about 70% of it’s total production. At the same time, about 350K autos are imported annually with annual sales of close to 1M autos. Our Port Everglades operations are expanding, we have seen a doubling of the volumes and operations during this year, and we expect the volumes to continue rise this and next year. We handle the entire range of PCTC commodities, and can as well handle larger inbound (and outbound) OEM volumes with distribution management for the South Florida market. Sustainability spotlight: Paving the way to face sustainability challenges! Horizon Autologistics in Mexico recently organized its first meeting with suppliers to discuss its sustainability policy and encourage their participation in its initiatives. The virtual meeting, attended by 10 suppliers, lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes. A comprehensive presentation was shared, outlining The Horizon Group's Sustainability Journey and emphasizing the importance of its policy. The discussion inspired further engagement with thought-provoking questions such as: Do we understand how our products and services impact the environment and surrounding communities? How can we manage our business to incorporate sustainability actions that generate value? What support do we need to join sustainability initiatives? Currently, none of the participating suppliers have sustainability-focused activities in place. However, the meeting successfully sparked interest, with suppliers expressing a desire to join future initiatives. To advance sustainability in the suppliers' business models, Horizon identified the importance of offering targeted training, setting actionable goals, and providing ongoing support for follow-up.
