The European Union's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at curbing the importation and trade of products linked to #deforestation and #forest #degradation. This regulation is part of the EU's broader strategy to combat #climate change and #biodiversity loss by ensuring that products sold in the EU do not contribute to deforestation globally. Read our latest guide for everything you need to know about the #EUDR, including who is required to comply, critical aspects of reporting requirements, and how #food and #beverage companies can prepare: https://lnkd.in/eCxe8xzF

"What we do is we take the nerdiest #data, and then we turn it into information that someone can use. We’re focused on kinds of #outcomes and trying to demonstrate that there is a path to whatever it is that that company is targeting. We’re trying to be the people in the room who are saying, this is not “pie in the sky,” here are the concrete steps you need to take over the next five years to get there." - Alexander Gillett, CEO at HowGood, on how HowGood's platform provides tools to help food companies improve outcomes in the #food and #agriculture sectors https://lnkd.in/ehaS7J9f

💚 #ImpactScore #Duurzaamheid #KetenSamenwerking #Foodservice #Transparantie #CSRD #VerantwoordOndernemen

The #food industry is investing heavily in #regenerative practices at the #farm level, but are the results of these initiatives showing up in corporate #emissions #reporting? With the high cost of scaling initiatives, it is essential to accurately capture outcomes and award credit where it’s due in order to recognize reduction and build buy-in. Join us on November 4th to hear from Henry Fovargue, SVP of Sustainability at Sysco, and Audrey Leduc, Director NA of Planet-Friendly Products at McCain Foods, to discuss issues like: ▶️ Why is it important to effectively quantify the impact of on-farm #agricultural practices? ▶️ What challenges have you faced in measuring #impact? ▶️ How are you currently working with #suppliers to better reflect their sourcing practices? ▶️ Where have you had success in communicating benefits of your #sourcing practices (or your suppliers’ practices) in reporting? ▶️ How did you create internal buy-in to scale your #sustainability investments? ▶️ Where do you see the future of quantifying and capturing #data for on-farm practices? 3 Predictions on the Future of Data & Transparency for Biodiversity 🌿 Yesterday I was asked to speak at the CBD COP16 Colombia on the role of data in pushing global systems towards transparency for #biodiversity. Alongside excellent panelists from UNEP-WCMC, CDP, Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Iberdrola, and European Union Commission, here are my three predictions: 🏦 1. Businesses and governments that do not rapidly develop strong data, nature tech, and #AI strategies will fall behind in economic competitiveness. Data drives value - not just for compliance, but for strategy and innovation. 📊 2. Unified and science-backed metrics exist for understanding the state of nature and our impacts on biodiversity – we have enough data NOW to start integrating these metrics into business decision making. 📈 3. Nature metrics and the data showing business impacts will become increasingly linked to investment decisions and flows of financial capital. Businesses using data can fuel the innovation and transformation that the world sorely needs to protect, support, and enhance biodiversity. Thanks to Matt Jones for organizing & moderating the session, and my fellow panelists Tony Goldner, Sherry Madera, Elizabeth Seeger, Humberto Delgado Rosam, and Isabel Tomé Esteban. #COP16 #sustainability #Colombia

"Companies are figuring out how to measure water impact in a way that benefits their investors and their own long-term procurement strategy. Because they recognize that water is only going to become more important within their sector, they are taking time to align on the methodology that makes the most sense for their sector, company and nature of their sourcing.” - Christina Lampert, Director of Growth & Innovation at HowGood, on how #food companies are approaching the conversation on how they're measuring and improving #water impact https://lnkd.in/eNbMRidJ
