Big news for the City of Rogers! 🚒🌳 Yesterday, the Fire Station 4 & Olive Street Park project Site Development Plan was officially approved, marking a major win for the community! This project will enhance emergency response times while also providing a much-needed public green space for residents to gather and enjoy. Olsson was honored to serve as the Civil Engineer, Landscape Architect, Geotechnical Engineer, and Surveyor on this transformative project. A huge thank you to the City of Rogers, Arkansas for their leadership and vision, and to the entire Project team (BUF Studio, HP Engineering, Inc., Baldwin & Shell Construction Company) for their dedication in bringing this project to life! Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Woodland Junior High School, designed to create a benchmark for healthy and sustainable educational environments. The school’s mass timber structure and innovative biophilic design reflect a commitment to student and staff wellness, while the site uniquely honors Fayetteville’s agricultural past. Repurposed barns will become flexible outdoor classrooms and a greenhouse, offering students hands-on learning and a direct connection to the land. This new Woodland campus, opening for the 2027-28 school year, will serve up to 900 seventh and eighth-grade students. On February 25th, I had the privilege of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new upper school campus at Holy Cross Christian Academy in Burleson! 🎉 This 13,240-square-foot facility marks the first phase of a visionary 9-phase master plan, designed to provide an exceptional learning environment for 5th–12th grade students.   HP Engineering is honored to provide the MEP design for this transformative project alongside Diverse Studio and Rudick Construction Group. Seeing the excitement from school leaders, students, and the community reinforced the incredible impact this campus will have for years to come.   Congratulations to HCCA on this exciting milestone—we can’t wait to see the vision come to life!

Today is my first day back to work after welcoming my fourth baby boy into the world. This season has reminded me of the incredible joy that comes with new life—and the fresh perspective it brings. As I prepared to return, my six-year-old asked me, “Mommy, why do you have to go back?” I smiled and told him, “Mommy needs to use my brain.” That simple moment was a reminder of the constant balance between work and life. Sometimes, life takes over, and we lean fully into family. Other times, work needs our full focus. True integration isn’t about having it all figured out—it’s about giving ourselves grace in the ebb and flow. Motherhood has reinforced just how much I love what I do—solving problems, creating opportunities, and driving growth. Coming back to work, I feel even more energized to lead, collaborate, and make an impact, both at home and in my career. I’m also incredibly grateful to HP Engineering, Inc. for providing paid maternity leave, allowing me the time to focus on my family during these precious early months. Grateful for this journey and the people who support it along the way!

We're excited to finally reveal the design for the new Woodland Junior High School campus, a groundbreaking project for Fayetteville Public Schools! Situated on a scenic 27-acre site at the northeast corner of Joyce Boulevard and Crossover Road, the proposed campus will set a new standard for educational environments, prioritizing the health and wellness of students and staff through innovative biophilic and sustainable design strategies. This new location for Woodland Junior High School, slated to open for the 2027-28 school year, will serve up to 900 7th and 8th-grade students in a visionary 160,000-square-foot, three-story facility. The site, once devoted to agricultural pursuits and featuring a pair of historic barns, offers a unique opportunity to blend modern educational needs with the preservation of Fayetteville’s agrarian heritage. These barns will be repurposed as flexible outdoor classroom space and a greenhouse, providing students with hands-on learning experiences and a tangible connection to the land. Central to the design is a focus on biophilic principles, integrating natural light and materials to create a healthy and stimulating learning environment. The building’s mass timber structure, a key sustainable element, not only reduces the project’s carbon footprint but also brings the warmth and natural aesthetic of wood into the learning spaces.
