A group of 200 B2B marketers who are just genuinely happy to be here and connect with each other. 9 speakers that have all delivered energy and education. And the food has been good too. So, about the tech scene in Vermont... It's alive and thriving and we are grateful to be watching it grow right before our eyes! We thought it would be nice to throw it back to the very first Tech Jam, organized by Seven Days. Tech Jam has been happening for 15 years, where career fair meets tech expo and connects job seekers and tech enthusiasts every year. The event has bounced around in the past, but made sense to settle at Hula where the last 3 years of keynote presentations have touched on the importance of collaborations and Hula community members working together to create new technologies. We're so excited to see this event come to life again! Who's coming to Tech Jam 2024 on October 26th!
Ever wonder why we have a huge scale in the Spot Cafe? Story time! The building that is now Hula used to be the Blodgett Oven factory. There’s a lot of really cool history within the Blodgett story. Gardner S. Blodgett, the founder of Blodgett Ovens was an entrepreneur himself. Starting as a small family operation, the company was officially up and running in 1854. Today, Blodgett is the leading manufacturer of commercial ovens in the world. It’s a success story of huge proportions, and we think it’s pretty serendipitous that modern day entrepreneurs work out of a building that holds a rich history of small business success. Since Hula’s inception, the goal has and always will be to uplift and accelerate small businesses in Vermont. Since opening, we've welcomed thousands of members and office tenants, celebrated businesses outgrowing our space, and watched individuals reach their first big milestones. We get to watch the vision come to life every day in big and small ways, and we're happy to have you along for the ride!

Thank you for your patience as we at 1% for the Planet shut our computers, turned off our notifications and came together in Burlington, Vermont for our annual STAFF GATHERING last week! This is easily one of my favorite projects of the year, giving me the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally to organize this momentous, energizing experience that brings us all stronger together. A major thanks to: Chloe King and her fabulous events team at Hula for hosting us as everyone's favorite group, year over year. 📋 Alie Sarhanis for the intentional planning and representative voice of our staff experience. 💓 Hotel Vermont for letting us stay with you, as high-maintenance as we can be, sometimes. See you next year! 💅 Raghav Bhandari and goodr for the super cool sunnies that kept our sensitive blue eyes from the beautiful, sunny weather that Vermont so kindly provided to us. 😎 Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean for facilitating a volunteering session for our staff on the shores of Lake Champlain. ⛵ Kate Williams for the fearless, heart-first leadership that is the foundation of the organizational culture that keeps this momentum building. 🤲 A reminder that there are capable, inspired human beings behind the emails, the job titles and the little faces that popup in our Google account profiles. Moments like this remind us of that! I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of an organization that prioritizes the people. If you work for a remote/hybrid organization and you do not organize an annual gathering to bring the people together, you're missing a major opportunity. All together for our planet!
