Let’s say goodbye to earning caps! This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re providing actionable ideas to support people with disabilities in finding and succeeding at “good jobs for all.” If you're on SSDI or SSI, you already know about SGA limits—or Substantial Gainful Activity limits. These limits apply to assets and earnings for people with disabilities, and you risk being able to keep your benefits if you earn more than these limits. This contributes to underemployment and lack of income for people with disabilities. Here are some actionable steps you can take today to end limits on SGA: 👉 Ask your lawmakers to advocate for an increase in earning limits for people with disabilities. 👉 Talk with your lawmakers about laws and policies that incentivize employers like those in the Disability Employment Incentive Act. 👉 Ask lawmakers to expand tax credits and deductions for employers who hire and retain employees with disabilities. Not sure where to start? Search for senators' contact information on Senate.gov: https://lnkd.in/eaUVmta #NDEAM2024 #DisabilityEmployment #EmploymentforAll #InclusionWorks

Keep telework alive! This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re sharing ideas for actionable steps to support people with disabilities in finding and succeeding at “good jobs for all.” During COVID, telework (or remote work) became a reality for many people. This meant that people with and without disabilities were granted the “reasonable accommodation” of working from home without completing paperwork required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. This resulted in more people with disabilities being employed. Now, with “return-to-office” mandates, people with disabilities are facing the same barriers as before, such as unreliable transportation. 👉 If you are experiencing a return-to-office mandate, advocate for yourself and others by speaking with HR about maintaining remote or hybrid work options. 👉 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dQiVFYrx Stay tuned for MORE actionable steps you can take to support improving work outcomes for people with disabilities! #NDEAM2024 #DisabilityEmployment #EmploymentforAll #InclusionWorks #SHRM

No more waitlists! This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re advocating for “Access to good jobs for all.” It’s easy to say we want better job access for people with disabilities, but it seems much harder to implement. This month, we're sharing actions on how YOU can improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities. Put your favorite in the comments (or let us know your action plan!). 👉 Ask your lawmakers to increase access to and budgets for home- and community-based waivers (HCBS). This will help expand Medicaid HCBS—and reduce waitlists! 👉 Learn more: https://ow.ly/mtRp50TPLzR #NDEAM2024 #DisabilityEmployment #EmploymentforAll #InclusionWorks
