It will drive the decarbonisation of future transport and logistics across Able Humber Port, and the South Humber ports, as new electric-powered HGVs replace existing diesel fleets. Able Humber Port is one of our three freeport tax sites, providing hundreds of acres of investment land with tax and rates relief for businesses. Investor spotlight on ... Mitsubishi Chemical Group! 🔦 Mitsubishi Chemical Group has committed to invest £250m in a new production line at its site at Saltend Chemicals Park. The new production line will help meet growing demand for Mitsubishi's SoarnoL product, which is primarily used in food packaging to extend product shelf life. The investment in a second production line will create dozens of new jobs while also safeguarding the existing 130 roles at the Mitsubishi Chemical Group facility on site. The new production line is expected to become operational in 2026. The development is located within the Freeport's Hull East tax site. It underlines Saltend Chemicals Park’s status as one of the UK’s leading industrial clusters. Investment announcement! 📣 Humber Freeport has played a key role in securing a major £250m development at Saltend Chemicals Park near Hull. Mitsubishi Chemical Group has committed to invest in a new production line at Saltend, which is located within one of the three Humber Freeport tax sites. The investment will double Mitsubishi's capacity at the site, east of Hull, which produces a resin used in packaging materials that help prolong the flavour and quality of foods. It will create dozens of new jobs while also safeguarding the existing 130 roles at the Mitsubishi Chemical Group facility on site. Businesses investing within the Humber Freeport tax sites benefit from a series of advantages, ranging from business rate and stamp duty land tax relief, to National Insurance support designed to reduce employment costs.
