In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, organizations like the Special Forces Charitable Trust are stepping up to provide crucial aid to those affected. Having witnessed the devastation natural disasters can bring, we understand the importance of immediate support for those beginning their recovery. While we may not be able to assist in person, we can still make a meaningful impact. If you’re able, please consider donating to the Special Forces Charitable Trust to help provide relief to those in need along the East Coast. Every contribution helps. https://lnkd.in/dFVuWHn #CommunitySupport #HurricaneRelief #HurricaneMilton #HurricaneHelene

OZ Architecture has officially moved into their newly renovated and expanded office! Congratulations to the Hyder Construction project team of Colin Stone, Sean Jordan, Mitchell McKay, Matt Johns, Miguel Pasillas-Torres, Christian Granquist, and last, but certainly not least, Superintendent Calvin Bultman on completing the OZ Office Renovation. They had to overcome a lot of unforeseen conditions in the older building. The 20,000 square-foot project involved renovating/upgrading several portions of the existing office space, but primarily focuses on the existing front of house and client spaces. The renovation also expanded into adjacent areas, giving OZ much-needed space as employees return to the office and the company continues to grow. The new office enhances OZ's image, marketability, and client engagement/collaboration. Congratulations team and congratulations OZ on their new space! #officeinteriors #renovation #coloradoconstruction

For 26 years, there’s been no Hyder Construction without Lori Helderlein. Lori could give most of us a history lesson on Hyder. A lot has changed since then; however, Lori’s pursuit of perfection has been steadfast. Lori embodies Hyder’s core values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Accountability. Not only is Lori accountable for all her individual work, but she’s also there to hold the rest of us accountable. Lori’s commitment to excellence is evident through countless years of clean audits, payroll perfection, timely payments, and happy owners. We can’t say enough about Lori’s quality of work product and the trust we have in her to deliver on so many critical tasks (payroll, taxes, owner billings, financial statements, etc.). Lori’s as reliable as they come. Lori has also personified so much of what the Hyder culture is today. In addition to displaying excellence in her work, she’s actively involved in Hyder’s volunteer work, social events, and impromptu happy hours. She has a genuine interest in her co-workers. For most Hyder employees, Lori knows your spouse’s name, your kid’s names, and what’s going on with your life. Her passion for the Hyder camaraderie is palpable. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lori for 17 years as a project engineer, project manager, business development manager, and my current role. Through the years, Lori and I have worked on countless different tasks together and never once has she missed a deadline or not responded immediately. Whether it was helping me with an expense report as a brand-new PE or helping to close the month financially in my current role, Lori is always Accountable. Thank you for 26 years, Lori! We appreciate you!” - Matt Huelskamp, President “I have worked with Lori for over 25 years, and I can truly say she is the best! In all this time, we have never had major issues with payroll nor employees not getting paid (my cohorts tell me all kinds of stories, so I know it happens elsewhere). Her ability to catch even little mistakes on our monthly reports is mind-boggling, and it shows why she is amazing at what she does. I am lucky to work with her daily, and even more so for how long I’ve been able to work with her!” - Nicole Johnson, HR Manager "I joined the Hyder Family in 2004! During my second interview with Lori, I remember sitting across the table and watching Lori's facial reactions. I knew when I accepted the position that I had to prove myself and that she would be a tough one to break. I was right – Lori was tough! Over time I established her trust and from there our relationship began. I've been truly fortunate to learn from Lori by watching her in action and taking notes. INTEGRITY, ACCOUNTABILITY and caring about all. We all are so lucky to have her on our team and congratulations sister on 26 years!" – Yvonne Wenzel, Contract Administrator Please join us in congratulating Lori on 26 years at Hyder!

Hyder Completes The Wild West Relay! 2 vans, 2 drivers (Thanks Yvonne Wenzel & Jack Wenzel!), 11 runners, 33.5 hours, and 198.5 miles – that’s what it took for team Rocky Mountain Hyder to make its way from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs for a successful showing in this year’s Wild West Relay! Although there was some blood, sweat, and tears along the way, the team – Robbie Miller, Alexis Brown, Michael Brown, Mitch Miller, Scott Miller, Kevin Clary, Preston Boyd, Michael Sternfeld, Wyatt Knapp, Dana Williams, and Tyler Gibbs – powered through the long distances and high elevation gains to cross the finish line in the heat of the afternoon at Gondola Square in Steamboat on Saturday! From sleeping on the lawn of North Park High School in Walden in 36-degree temps at 2:00AM in the morning to taking a refreshing dip in the Laramie River at the Woods Landing Resort in Wyoming after a hearty, pasta-loaded spaghetti dinner, the team’s effort was nothing shy of an adventure, to say the least. There were many laughs, bonds were made, and most likely every runner did better than they might have expected when the initial invite went out back in April – CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! Special shout out to Robbie and Kevin for leading the team up Deadman’s Pass and Rabbit Ears Pass, respectively! Here’s to looking forward to doing it all over again next year! #wildwestrelay #teambuilding

It's been an honor working on your space! Thanks for entrusting us to bring your vision to life!
The OZ studio, located in the RiNo Arts District, is currently undergoing a substantial office refresh. By the end of the month, our entire staff will be under one roof for the first time in our 60-year history! We spent a little time tying the history of our building into the new look. In 1895, William Albert Weigele, the proprietor of the Weigele Riveted Steele and Pipe Works, purchased this block and, under his supervision, built 3003 and the 3033 warehouse structure (our current two buildings) in the 1930s. 3001 Larimer & 3002 Walnut were built in 1907, and these are the two spaces we are expanding into. Thompson Pipe and Steel occupied the 3003 building (where our current main lobby is located) in the 1940’s. Thompson Pipe and Steel produced coated “spiral welded steel pipe” (very large diameter) but also built Destroyer Escort Ships during WWII. They built large sections that could be shipped by rail through the Moffet Tunnel to California, where they were welded. Many of the cranes used for manufacturing in the buildings have been restored to working order and can be seen in our space. At one point in history, large winches crawled along the I-beams to move items from one building to the next, and then the crane system moved back and forth within each building. Some of the train tracks used for moving large pieces of steel in the back parking lot are still visible. The brick building (3003) was later occupied in the 1980s and 1990s by Waste Management Recycling as a satellite station. Tom Sprung purchased the property in 2000 and renovated it for office use. Thank you to Hyder Construction for working so fast to get us into a new vibe that reflects our current culture and work styles. #OZarchitecture #architecture #interiors #adaptivereuse #rino #rivernorth #architectureoffice #hyderconstruction #RTM #tomsprung #rinoartsdistrict

Please join us in celebrating Doug Thompson's thirty years of service at Hyder Construction! Doug started at Hyder 30 years ago as a Project Manager at the Federal Reserve building downtown. Quickly proving his capabilities, he was assigned a number of challenging projects in the mountains including the Bridge Street Lodge Condominiums, a complex renovation at the Eagle County Courthouse. Since his early days at Hyder, he has been involved in many of our iconic projects including The Navarre Building, The Vail Marriott, Parker Town Hall, Founder's Park, Vail's Front Door, Vail Four Seasons, Breckenridge Brewery, Lone Rock Retreat, Breckenridge Parking Structure and Aerie Lodge to name just a few. It’s no coincidence that these projects have earned three AGC ACE awards, multiple 2nd place AGC awards and a national ENR award! Doug's knowledge of the industry, ability to build difficult construction projects, and focus on building an exceptional product sets the bar high in our business. He has been a mentor to countless PE’s, PM’s, and Superintendents, and as a result, his teams have given him the nickname “The Professor.” Doug does not have to have a personal marketing plan because owners and architects who have worked with Doug reach out to him time and time again with new projects. Doug played a big part over his career in helping develop the best practices included in Hyder's Core Values and in the Hyder Way because of his love of building and commitment to be successful on every project he undertakes, and he has been an integral part of Hyder's success. Cheers and Congratulations Doug!! #employeeanniversary #inspiredpeople #mountainconstruction
