Excited to share some key takeaways from our 8th #StakeholdersMeeting, where Armenia’s civil society organizations (CSOs) took a deep dive into the draft 2025 social protection budget! 💼   Engaging presentations by Susanna Yeghiazaryan and Karine Harutyunyan sparked dynamic conversations around crucial issues such as budget shifts in the social protection sector, the growing importance of non-financial indicators in budget analysis, and how CSOs can actively shape public finance decisions.   With the co-facilitation of MOLSA Secretary General Samvel Muradyan, CSO representatives also explored MOLSA’s innovative triage system for emergency situations and reviewed the evaluation results of the domestic violence prevention budget program. These collaborative discussions are driving changes in public financial management and social protection strategies.    A special shoutout to our MOLSA colleagues Eline Santrosyan, Sophie Bostanchyan, and Garnik Nalbandyan for their invaluable contributions!   🚀Looking forward to building on this momentum in future sessions—stay tuned!   #PublicFinanceManagement #CivilSociety #StakeholderEngagement #BudgetProcess #SocialProtection #MOLSA #PFM

We celebrated the official launch of the USAID/Rwanda Boneza Ubucuruzi Activity (Trade Facilitation Activity) yesterday in Kigali. It was a wonderful, energetic event with participants from several Government of Rwanda Agencies, including our sponsoring agencies the Ministry for Trade and Industry and the Rwanda Revenue Authority; From USAID (thank you Mission Director Keisha Effiom!), the Rwanda Private Sector, who demonstrated their eagerness for this project's activities, and IBI - A URC Company Vice President Rebecca Lamberton. This four-year project is in the capable hands of Chief of Party Jackie Zizane. We look forward to supporting Rwanda's economic growth and prosperity through Boneza Ubucuruzi!

It was exciting as the Feed the Future Rwanda Trade Facilitation Activity, known as Boneza Ubucuruzi in Kinyarwanda and funded by USAID, was officially launched today in Kigali. This Activity aims at Automating Trade Processes as well as tackle existing trade barriers that hinder business between Rwanda and its trading partners. Several speakers during the launch shared their insights on the significance and potential impact of this new Activity. Mrs. Keisha L. Effiom, USAID Mission Director for Rwanda and Burundi:  “We also know that the target of Rwanda’s Strategy for Transformation 2 aims to double the exports, moving from 3.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2023 to reaching 7.3 billion U.S. dollars by 2029. We can achieve this target by having the right trade regulations in place, streamlining border procedures to minimize delays, eliminating NTBs that are a high cost to traders, automating trade procedures to speed-up clearance procedures to improve efficiency and increase transparency”  Chief of Party Jackie Zizane: "Traders doing business across borders to and from Rwanda continue to face challenges of frequently emerging NTBs. It is imperative that we put mechanisms in place to ensure smooth and seamless flow of goods. I am optimistic that we the Launch of this Activity today, much will be achieved through strong partnership with Private sector and concerned government Institutions"  Rwanda Revenue Authority Commissioner General Mr. Ronald Niwenshuti: "As the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), we are fully committed to the success of this project. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to USAID, Rwanda for their continued support and partnership. This project is not only crucial but also timely, as it addresses key challenges that have long hindered trade and economic growth. By streamlining trade processes and removing barriers, we are confident it will enhance Rwanda's competitiveness and open up new opportunities for our traders"  Ministry of Trade and Industry Acting Director General Cassien Karangwa: "I urge all stakeholders to remain actively engaged, collaborative, and solution oriented. Our collective efforts will be pivotal in overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities, and driving positive change in our trade landscape"
