Low-emission fuels, such as hydrogen and biofuels, are critical to #decarbonisation efforts in hard-to-abate sectors like shipping, aviation and petrochemicals. However, a lack of common risk metrics can often impede investments in the #NewEnergy market as companies are unable to accurately assess the risk and returns of projects without sufficient pricing information. Newly-launched HySights provides a possible solution. As the world’s first and only ratings agency for New Energy projects, HySights provides its clients with standardised, independent metrics to evaluate, compare, and benchmark New Energy projects worldwide. This is done through its proprietary AI solution which processes data from multiple sources and is purpose-built for New Energy applications. According to HySights CEO Greg Mittman, the company chose to base its headquarters in #Singapore due to the city-state’s established capabilities in energy trading, sustainable finance, and technology development, which aligns closely with its mission to accelerate the energy transition. IMI Venture Studio is proud to be a continued corporate partner in the third edition of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) Corporate Venture Launchpad (CVL) programme. The CVL programme is receiving a fresh injection of S$32 million over the next two years to bolster corporate venturing and startup partnerships in #Singapore. Under the EDB's CVL programme, IMI Venture Studio launched HySights this year - a market intelligence provider specialising in the low-carbon gas ecosystem, including hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and e-methane. Hysights equips businesses and policymakers with the AI-driven data, tools, and insights for better-decision making to accelerate the #energytransition by de-risking and incentivising #cleanenergy investments. The CVL has been a key factor in IMI's decision to build its venture studio in Singapore.
