👁️ Pesticides’ Impact on Antifungal Drug Efficacy Farmers use antifungal pesticides to protect crops, but emerging evidence shows that these pesticides can lead to antifungal resistance in humans. When fungi become resistant to pesticides, they may also resist drugs used to treat fungal infections like aspergillosis. This can make treatments less effective and limit medical options. Antifungal resistance is a growing global health concern. The U.S. government, through the EPA, USDA, and HHS, has published a framework to address this urgent issue. Their recent concept note outlines strategies to assess and reduce the risks posed by antifungal pesticides, ensuring the continued effectiveness of crucial medical treatments. This initiative must gain global momentum to safeguard public health and combat antifungal resistance. 👉 Learn more: Pesticides’ Impact on Antibacterial and Antifungal Drug Efficacy (https://lnkd.in/d2EyuixC) #AntifungalResistance #PublicHealth #Agriculture #FungalDisease
