Providing customized fitness & movement spaces, instruction and education resources to communities that need it most.

About us

The Opportunity: As budget cuts force school districts, first responders and community organizations to shift priorities, fitness and wellness are dramatically overlooked. The Reality: One study found that that unavailability of school facilities was a barrier for school physical activity programs and that the barrier was greatest in urban, primarily non-white, and high-enrollment schools. While the American Society of Civil Engineers graded America's School Infrastructure a D+ overall, nonwhite school districts get $23 Billion less than white districts despite serving the same number of students. Our Why: WE ALL DESERVE equal opportunities as we strive to achieve a healthy mind, body and spirit. Our Mission: To provide fitness spaces and education resources to communities that need it most. Our Solution: The Impact Fitness Foundation is a cost-effective, turnkey 501c3 nonprofit resource that transforms unused or unsafe areas of a building into Motivational Fitness, Movement and Mindfulness spaces, designed to promote healthy habits and inspire people of all ages to MOVE FORWARD.

President & CEO of Wellpoint Maryland (a wholly owned subsidiary of Elevance Health)

Small steps can lead to big leaps in advancing whole health and health equity. Last week, we at Wellpoint Maryland got to partner with Chris Welsh, founder of Impact Fitness Foundation, in installing a state-of-the-art fitness center at Washington High School in Somerset County, Maryland. It was so much fun and incredibly meaningful to the students, staff, and community. I wish I captured the moment that students got to see the new space - the smiles and energy were electric. • Our schools need fitness! Thank you Elevance Health for making this mission a priority and providing safe places to learn, move and grow! We can not do it alone! So thankful to have you in our #fitnessfamily

Students at Indianapolis’ Irvington Prep Academy received their first-ever weight room and fitness space this week, givenby Elevance Health and Impact Fitness Foundation. Associates - along with Indiana Fever - volunteered their time to transform a room used for storage and laundry into a state-of-the-art training facility with new equipment and space for functional movement. This marks the third Indy high school to receive a new fitness space in celebration of the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off, a pre-season collegiate basketball tournament that takes place in November.

  • Companies don’t always get to experience the impact their community investments make and oftentimes don’t see the faces of the real people who will benefit. Not so with Elevance Health. who recruited 30 volunteers from all parts of the company to sweat their butts off and in four hours, transform a dingy and creepy basement into a first-class weight room and movement space in partnership with the Impact Fitness Foundation. It’s the first time the school has ever had this basic resource, and the athletic director had us tears talking about what a big difference it will make! Always a pleasure to work with Jill Becher and Chris Welsh to bring these projects to life!

Back at it with Elevance Health! This week we transformed a dingy basement at Irvington Preparatory Academy in Indianapolis into the school’s very first weight room and movement space.  But this is about more than a weight room. Participation in girls sports continues to decrease, in part because of a lack of resources, but also because of a lack of confidence. Athletic Director Joanna Wiggins is building an open, inclusive and equitable culture at IPA, and it was a pleasure to partner on this project. THANK YOU to Elevance Health, Jill Becher, Kyle Weber and SHANNON LOECHER https://lnkd.in/gBiXA7fq

A Fitness guy with the mission of MOVING FITNESS FORWARD!

BREAK THE CYCLE!! The day we move the needle in our industry is the day we start changing the layouts of our corporate and big box fitness spaces. The easier convo is definitely "here are the 20 ellipticals and 20 treadmills for you to use Mrs. Smith". How about we educate our potential members and clients on the benefits of strength and the ability to move your body to actually tackle LIFE! For a few of us we get it and will keep driving this message. For the ones chasing the dollar.. WE ARE FAILING, THE TIME IS NOW.

  • Looking for a fitness professional to help your employees see through the BS that comes along with those New Years resolutions and health goals? It really doesn't need to be so complicated, painful, or my favorite "THE GRIND"... Reach out today to schedule one of our Fitness Clinics!
