Congratulations to SmithGroup on their IIDA Northern California Honor Awards nomination for Sunnyvale City Hall! We were honored to contribute to this groundbreaking project, which earned both Net Zero carbon and LEED Platinum certifications, making it the first city hall in the nation to achieve these distinctions. The goal: to create a hub for community, not just a public office building. We used this idea to lead our design concept, creating inclusive and functional spaces for all. For the third consecutive year, the NorCal team proudly took part in The Real Estate Divas - Bay Area March Mountain Mingle weekend at Palisades Tahoe. In collaboration with Service West, Inc. we hosted a lively Après Ski happy hour on Friday afternoon, welcoming over 95 industry professionals. We were joined by A&D, service partners, clients, and more, making it a great opportunity to connect and network in a relaxed, ski resort setting. Thank you to all who attended!

To kick off Black History Month, we are here to reaffirm our commitment to DEI. The workplace is more than just a place of work. It’s where trust is built and meaningful impact begins. The 2025 BHM theme "African Americans and Labor" honors the contributions of Black workers throughout history. Marking 100 years since the first Black labor union charter, it highlights the fight against workplace discrimination and the lasting impact on all American workers. This month, we’re spotlighting Black Artists + Designers Guild (BADG), a platform empowering Black architects and designers through community, support, and equity-driven initiatives. Honoring Black history means advocating for equity every day. We remain committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all voices are valued and empowered.
