“…artificial Intelligence is here, and the implications could change our lives.” The latest Georgia Tech Alumni Association Magazine features innovative Yellow Jackets out to improve the world through emerging technologies; Insight Optics was thrilled to be part of the story. We’re a scrappy bunch of Tech alumni, out to not just change lives, but improve them. Insight Optics uses #ML and #AI to make healthcare screenings mobile. By removing the barrier of patients needing to make multiple visits for specialized exams, we increase access to preventative care, we can operate in health deserts, and we facilitate early detection. Our first product, OptoView™, is deploying now. It focuses on screening eyes for diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. We don’t need to dilate eyes, and the 2-min exam can be done while a patient’s weight and height are being taken. Learn more and see what role ML/AI plays at www.io.care. Thank you to Georgia Institute of Technology, Christopher Klaus and Fusen World, and the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business for bringing this team together. Confidence in Telemedicine to Prevent Preventable Diseases
About us
The fundus exam is a critical tool in preventative, corrective, and diagnostic healthcare services. Annual screenings allow physicians to detect early signs of eye diseases such as retinopathy and glaucoma, as well as complications influenced by other conditions such as diabetes and elevated intracranial pressure. Although important, multiple studies conclude that less than 50% of the recommended population complies with the exam. At Insight Optics, our goal is to increase compliance rates by bringing trained ophthalmologists to the point of primary care. Our mobile imaging network allows primary care physicians to record and forward fundus examinations to local ophthalmologists for review. This increases the screening, diagnostic, and monitoring capabilities at the primary level while providing patients with earlier disease detection and treatment options. Visit Us at http://io.care
