As we recognize Truck Driver Appreciation Week, IME would like to express our sincere thanks to the men and women who safely and securely haul commercial explosives to keep our nation’s economy moving. Without truck drivers transporting commercial explosives in all 50 states, critical infrastructure projects including mining, quarrying, construction, and energy production would not be possible. #ThankATrucker #TruckDriverAppreciationWeek

IME applauds Chairman Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Ranking Member John Barrasso (R-WY) for their bipartisan approach to permitting reform. We support S. 4753, the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024. If passed, this bill would provide certainty to the permitting process, support continued economic growth and, ensure the United States' global position as a leader in energy production. IME urges a “Yes” vote on this important legislation.

IME is proud to be one of more than 150 organizations that support the Transportation Security Screening Modernization Act. This legislation will eliminate duplicative background checks and fees for transportation workers. Giving these essential supply chain workers the ability to renew multiple credentials at the same time for a single fee would significantly reduce costs and hassle. IME urges the Senate to advance this important legislation. #ExplosivesBuildAmerica #Jobs #Safety #Security #SupplyChain #OneCheckOneFee

Yesterday, the House passed the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) which would improve and strengthen our nation’s ports and harbors, inland waterway navigation, flood and storm protection, and other aspects of our water resources infrastructure. IME and our members are proud to play an important role in the implementation of many of these critical infrastructure projects through the safe and secure use of commercial explosives for the extraction of aggregate materials used in construction, removal of old structures, and preparing areas for new construction.
