The Intealth team had a great time at the AMEE - The International Association for Health Professions Education 2024 conference last week, connecting with friends and colleagues from around the world. We were thrilled to meet so many new attendees at the Intealth booth, and a gathering of FAIMER faculty and Fellows from classes 2002-2024 was a definite highlight! We were also grateful to contribute to the robust conference program: • Rashmi Vyas, Vice President, Intealth and Senior Director, FAIMER Global, spoke about the FAIMER Competency-based Education (FACE) program as part of a session on competency-based education in the health professions • Marta van Zanten, Senior Director, FAIMER Research, cofacilitated a symposium on the global expansion of medical school accreditation • Marta van Zanten also coauthored an e-poster with Kara Oleyn, Senior Vice President, Intealth and Executive Director, ECFMG on evaluating the communication skills and English proficiency of IMGs in the United States Kudos to all involved in the planning of AMEE 2024! We look forward to participating again next year. #AMEE2024 #Intealth #GlobalHealth #ECFMG #FAIMER #MedEd

A big thank you to Dr. Michael Rowe for leading the insightful FAIMER Connect Continued Learning Series (FCCLS) webinar, “Coming to Terms with AI in Society,” which was offered virtually on August 19 to current and graduated FAIMER Fellows. Dr. Rowe, Associate Professor for Digital Innovation at the University of Lincoln and a 2010 SAFRI Fellow, offered valuable perspectives on AI’s impact on health professions education. We’re grateful for his expertise and the engaging discussion. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Rowe back on November 7 for the second installment of this two-part webinar series, when we’ll further explore the impact and potential of generative AI in health professions practice, education, and research. Thank you to everyone who joined this webinar. Learn more about the FAIMER Global programs here: www.faimer.org/global #FAIMER #FCCLS #MedicalEducation #Intealth

New on Journeys in Medicine: “How to Succeed in Your ‘Rookie’ Year” by Dr. Sushania Pryce B.Sc. (Hons.), M.D 🌎🩺 Dr. Pryce, a returning author to the blog, is a physician from Jamaica training in Wisconsin. Around this time last year, we published Dr. Pryce’s first entry, “From FOMO to Family Medicine,” about beginning her first year of training in family medicine. Now having entered her second year of training, Dr. Pryce offers advice and reassurance to first-year residents based on her experiences. “I know it can feel overwhelming to be the rookie on the team,” Dr. Pryce writes, “but remember that, just like in basketball, a single player doesn’t win the championship on their own: it takes a whole organization.” For more of Dr. Pryce’s tips on time management, studying, and maintaining one’s health and wellness while in training, read her new entry here: https://ow.ly/hRNS50T3X9Z
