  • ISBH Expands Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) Services to Meet Rising Needs Across Southeast Ohio August 13, 2024 — Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is proud to announce the expansion of its Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) program to Athens, Fairfield, Pickaway, Ross, Jackson, Gallia, Meigs, Vinton, Hocking, Morgan, Washington, Perry, and Muskingum counties in response to the growing demand for intensive therapeutic services. The state of Ohio has recognized the urgent need for mental health services in these regions and has awarded ISBH grant funding to establish and enhance IHBT teams, particularly in Perry, Morgan, Washington, Athens, Vinton, Hocking, Jackson, Galia, and Meigs counties. Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) is a specialized mental health service that provides comprehensive therapeutic care directly in the homes of youth and families facing severe emotional disturbances. The program is designed to stabilize crises, improve family functioning, and prevent the need for out-of-home placements. IHBT works to keep families intact by delivering individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child and family. The services are highly flexible, meeting families where they are—both physically and emotionally—and are available around the clock to provide immediate support during times of crisis. According to Shannon Brown, Program Manager at ISBH, "Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) is a crucial service that offers families the support they need to navigate extremely challenging circumstances. By providing this service in the home, we can better engage with the entire family unit, creating a more stable and supportive environment that reduces the risk of youth needing to be placed outside their homes or helps them transition back home after such placements." ISBH is actively seeking licensed social workers and licensed professional counselors to join our expanding IHBT teams across the mentioned counties. Successful candidates will be offered a comprehensive benefits package, including full agency benefits, flexible scheduling, and a $5,000 hiring bonus. • Integrated Services for Behavioral Health Secures $2 Million from Ohio Capital Budget to Expand Behavioral Health Services Across Southeast Ohio August 2024 — Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a recipient of $2 million in funding through the Strategic Investment Fund, part of Ohio's recently enacted capital budget. This critical investment will support ISBH in significantly expanding its behavioral health services for youth and families across southeastern and central Ohio, helping to address substantial service gaps in these regions. The funding, made possible by the SFY 2025-2026 Ohio capital budget, is part of a broader $4.2 billion investment across the state. A notable portion of this budget, $717 million, is earmarked for community projects through the Strategic Investment Fund. This fund allows for one-time investments in projects that have a transformational impact on local communities. The $2 million allocated to ISBH will be used to: *Launch new services in Scioto, Lawrence, and Adams counties. *Expand existing services into. Guernsey, Coshocton, and Noble counties. *Support research and start-up efforts for two new service lines focused on youth respite care and substance use disorder treatment. Samantha Shafer, ISBH’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed gratitude for the support from Ohio’s state legislature and Governor DeWine. “We are incredibly thankful to our state policymakers and to Governor DeWine for their continued dedication to improving access to behavioral health services for all Ohioans, particularly in the Appalachian region. This allocation underscores the importance of supporting community-based service providers who deliver culturally competent and accessible care directly in homes, schools, and neighborhoods. With this funding, we will be able to extend our reach and provide critical services to more youth and families across our service areas,” said Shafer. This funding represents a significant step forward in ISBH’s mission to meet the growing demand for behavioral health services in underserved areas. By expanding its services, ISBH is better positioned to ensure that essential care is available to those who need it most, fostering healthier communities across Ohio.
