These joyful moments activate the brain's reward system, combatting toxic stress and promoting healthy development for both parents and children. We were both excited to reconnect with fellow OU students as alumni from Ohio University ourselves. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with a diverse group of students and facilitate connections for behavioral health employment and internships. Congratulations to all the graduates on their graduation from the Heart to Heart Leadership-Leadership from Within program!   This transformative program focuses on developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and values-based leadership to create meaningful impact in both personal and professional settings. Through reflection, dialogue, and practical application, participants gain the tools to lead with authenticity and purpose.   Thank you to the United Way of Summit & Medina for hosting this leadership program and inviting us and other professionals from our Circle of Hope partner agencies. We are excited to see how they all use these skills to strengthen our community!

March is Women's History Month! Each week, we're highlighting the incredible women who've shaped the world of psychology and behavioral health! Martha Bernal was the first Latina woman to receive a doctorate in psychology in the United States. Her work focused on culturally sensitive treatment and advocating for the needs of communities of color within mental health.
