NEWS: Intelsat and the Cochise County, Arizona Sheriff’s Office launched the use of Intelsat’s Multi-Layer Communication System (MLCS) to enable border security forces to safely operate and communicate in extreme, remote environments where radio, cellular and infrastructure services do not exist. The MLCS combines high-throughput, low-latency low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite service with 5G cellular and a “police radio” gateway to provide voice and broadband connectivity to the Sheriff's Office in previously unconnected areas along the U.S. southern border. By integrating satellite, cellular, and ground-tactical radio systems, the managed service ensures seamless communication with the Sheriff’s 911 dispatch center, even when officers are two miles from a vehicle. https://intl.st/4ikMrae
