On this #ThankfulThursday we are so grateful for opportunities to share and work with our elected officials. Earlier this week MD State Delegate Sarah Wolek visited our New Leaf Emergency Shelter. We are so glad to share our work and discuss ideas to create effective change for all our Montgomery County neighbors!

We are thrilled to celebrate our community partner Dr. Kathryn Kelly, CEO and Founder of Kelly Collaborative Medicine. Dr. Kelly is being honored by the Congressional Black Caucus along with 99 other professionals! She is being recognized for her work as a medical professional but also for her dedication to providing access to medical care for our neighbors experiencing vulnerabilities and homelessness. Dr. Kelly and her team work together with the IW programs at Progress Place to provide medical care to our clients and neighbors there. Liz Krueger, Director of IW Homeless Services shares, “With skill and intention, Dr. Kelly chooses to serve a population made medically and emotionally vulnerable by poverty and systemic racism. We cherish our partnership with her not only because of her dedication and unique expertise, but also because she uses her powerful voice for meaningful advocacy and change at every opportunity." Congratulations Dr. Kelly, this recognition is so well deserved. To learn more about Dr. Kelly's work in providing medical care to our community click here: https://lnkd.in/eam8bw6w
