This summer, three refugee girls attended a one-week camp at the Houston Science Museum, thanks to high school sophomore Zayna and her organization, STEMpowered. Zayna raised funds and organized safe transportation to provide these girls with an enriching STEM experience. "These girls deserve an opportunity that sparks their passion for STEM," Zayna said. The girls explored NASA, made toy cars, and built lasting memories. One father shared, “She made her own car and is now more encouraged than before.” Zayna’s initiative empowers refugee girls and inspires a future generation of women in STEM. #SupportRefugees #STEMeducation #EmpowerGirls

We hosted a successful Refugee Health Fair, providing crucial health screenings to over 170 refugee clients with support from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), Texas Woman's University, the Sai Group, Houston Health Department, and volunteers. Families accessed valuable health resources, while kids enjoyed activities in the child watch room, thanks to 10 dedicated volunteers. Donations included lunches from Phoenicia Specialty Foods, snacks from H-E-B, school supplies, and more. The HEB Buddy also made a special visit, bringing smiles to the children's faces.
