According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Milton moved offshore early this morning and has now exited the state of Florida. While we realize that much of the state is now recovering from the aftermath of this powerful storm, we are happy to hear that Orlando was not drastically affected. We have had NALMCO board members on site at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate since Tuesday, and the hotel is in full operation. The hotel never lost power, water, or internet. The FAA is estimating that the Orlando airport will reopen at 6:00 p.m. EDT today (https://lnkd.in/dA8k5TNc). In addition, Walt Disney World is preparing to reopen its four theme parks and Disney Springs on Friday. Taking all of this into consideration, NALMCO’s 71st Convention and Trade Show will proceed as planned, including pre-conference trainings that are being offered Friday-Sunday and the convention itself, which kicks off on Sunday, October 13. Please contact meetings@nalmco.org with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you soon!
