Energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs) are a critical funding mechanism allowing federal agencies to partner with energy service companies to procure #energy savings and facility improvements with no up-front capital costs. 💸 Agencies have been using ESPCs since 1998 to significantly reduce #energy and operating costs and make progress toward meeting #federal #sustainability goals. 🙌 FEMP co-chairs the Federal Energy Savings Performance Contracting Steering Committee with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) where agencies come together to share their lessons learned while implementing ESPCs and to further promote the use of ESPCs throughout the federal government. This committee meets bi-annually and recently gathered at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory campus in Colorado. FEMP Deputy Director Anna J Siefken spoke alongside OSD Director for Installation Clean Energy & Energy Efficiency Susan Call about the importance of performance contracting and how it's a critical tool to achieve federal goals.
