🌬️We would like to share with you an innovative dehumidification technology! This study presents the development of a counter flow dehumidification test rig using calcium chloride (CaCl2) liquid as a desiccant, sprayed onto a novel organic packing made from wood shavings with varying densities and porosities. The performance of the system was evaluated by analyzing key parameters like moisture removal rate (MRR), dehumidification effectiveness, COP, and mass transfer coefficient. 🔬 Key findings include: •Increased air flow rate leads to higher relative humidity and mass transfer coefficient, but reduces COP, MRR, and dehumidification efficiency. •Higher CaCl2 concentration boosts performance, enhancing MRR, COP, and mass transfer coefficient. •Among three tested densities, the 500 kg/m³ packing showed the best performance at 30% desiccant concentration, with an MRR, ΔRH, and dehumidification effectiveness 9.7%, 18.7%, and 4.9% lower than the Celdek pad at 5 m/s air velocity. 👉 Read and explore the full study for more insights! Can Somalia leverage its energy sector to drive long-term economic growth, and what role do positive and negative energy shocks play? 📊 New insights from a recent study reveal the asymmetric impact of energy consumption on Somalia's economic growth between 1985–2017. Using the Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) technique and Granger causality test, the findings show a strong long-run relationship between energy consumption and economic growth. Positive energy shocks have a greater effect, but even negative shocks contribute to growth, confirming the energy-led growth hypothesis. Furthermore, policymakers are encouraged to focus on enhancing foreign and local investments in Somalia's energy sector to maintain this upward trajectory. 👉 Get a deeper insight into the results of the study by reading the open-access publication entitled Energy consumption and economic growth nexus in Somalia: empirical evidence from nonlinear ARDL technique (https://lnkd.in/dF_3p4Ja) by Abdimalik Ali Warsame, Ahmed Alasow and Mohamed Ahmed Salad. #EconomicGrowth #EnergyConsumption #NARDL #EnergyLedGrowth #Somalia #PolicyInsights #InvestmentInEnergy Energy consumption per capita in Somalia. 🌍 Climate change is gradually reaching levels that pose an existential threat, but environmental policy in South Africa still relies on limited indicators. A new study introduces the Load Capacity Factor (LCF), a more holistic measure that covers both environmental demand and supply, analysed using data from 1970-2018. The findings reveal that green technologies significantly increase the LCF at higher quantiles, while the transition to clean energy significantly improves it. The research reveals that resource rents and economic growth influence LCF in distinct ways across various quantiles. In the article authors, Uche Emmanuel Ph.D and Nicholas Ngepah, also offer valuable policy insights and recommendations! 👉 Read more in the full open-access study “How green-technology, energy-transition and resource rents influence load capacity factor in South Africa” here: https://lnkd.in/dmdUVYW8 #GreenTechnology #EnergyTransition #LoadCapacityFactor #ResourcesRent #QARDL #SouthAfrica Ecological load capacity factor in South Africa.
