About us

The annual film festival is the leading, annual Bay Area Ocean destination event, and the largest ocean centric global film festival in the world. Now celebrating its 22nd Anniversary on April 11-13, 2025, the three-day film festival features more than 40 independent films from around the world, visiting filmmakers, special guests, panel discussions and opportunities for patrons to engage with Ocean Hero Community Partners. The film festival ‘s mission of education engages the next generation of ocean leaders by offering a Free Student Education Program and an International Student Film Competition for middle school and high school students around the world. In addition, the IOFF has a robust Traveling Program that hosts special screenings throughout the year and around the world. At IOFF, we are united by a passion to protect our oceans, and we believe that the power of film is one of the best ways to bring people together and create change.
