Last but not least, we welcome Deren Onursal to the ECC Blog and Web Resources team! 👏 Deren is a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Riverside. His research interests include protest, social movements, state repression, democratic institutions, and quantitative methodology. He particularly investigates the effects of state tactics used during protest events on protesters' decisions to continue, and whether the relationship between state repression and protest continuation is mediated by emotions. Evelyn holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Social and Cultural Psychology (Global-MINDS) from the University of Limerick, Ireland, and ISCTE-IUL, Portugal. Her primary research interests include political and cultural psychology, with a focus on democratic perceptions and attitudes, politicized identities, cross-cultural psychology, and socio-cultural values and norms.
