Our team of experts up at Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland are making outstanding progress as they reach these milestones for OSAM-1. Cheers to our tenacious workforce and leadership on OMES III for their dedication to excellence.
Congratulations Team on the OSAM-1 Milestones! I could not be prouder of the progress that has been made by the outstanding OSAM-1 team. As we navigate the programmatic uncertainties of the project, it’s crucial to recognize the remarkable achievements made by the team over the past six months. - Space Vehicle (pictured), now approximately 95% assembled! - The Servicing Payload has been successfully integrated with the Spacecraft Bus and installed several additional Servicing Payload and SPIDER subsystems. - Our first Robot System has been installed on the vehicle, marking a significant milestone! - The project remains on track for vehicle-level Comprehensive Performance Testing (CPT) this Fall and environmental testing beginning in January 2025, all in line with the 2026 Launch Plan. - The integration of Robot System 2 is progressing well. The REU to Robot Arm 1 electrical integration for both volt services has successfully been completed, and the first single arm joint movement is planned for this week! - Robot System 1 has completed its first hot & cold survival and operational cycle in thermal vacuum testing. The team is preparing for the upcoming thermal Payload Robot System Capture Test (PRSCT). As we wait for the launch vehicle RFP to be released, let’s keep up the fantastic momentum and continue to support each other as we move forward. Together, we are achieving incredible things!
