Roo-ver was off to the races this weekend! Our Lunar Outpost Oceania team had the incredible opportunity to put wheels on the track at the F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne. Our team onsite inspired the next generation of explorers in the Innovation Hub—where curious minds got to race their very own Moon rovers and dive into the world of space exploration. #TheNextLeap #GDayMoon #LunarOutpost #SpaceTech #MoonMission #Innovation

About us
Lunar Outpost is the industry leader in space robotics, lunar surface mobility, and space resources. We are on a mission to enable an extended human presence in space while utilizing the vast resources in space to drive positive impacts here on Earth. From our five rovers headed to the Moon to explore, prospect, and establish infrastructure, to the creation of oxygen on Mars, our impact spans the solar system. Lunar Outpost’s mobility and robotic systems, ranging from our exploration-class Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform (MAPP) rover to our truck-sized industrial Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV), will be the workforce for the New Space economy and enable Lunar Outpost to bring the infinite value of space to benefit humanity on Earth and beyond. Through notable commercialization and amazing partnerships, Lunar Outpost creates tremendous value in the New Space economy. Lunar Outpost leads the Lunar Dawn team, consisting of General Motors, Goodyear, and MDA Space – the leading consortium for LTV providing mobility for Artemis astronauts, a critical component of the broader Artemis campaign that will enable a sustainable presence on the Moon. Lunar Outpost’s five upcoming lunar surface missions will make history, with our first rover set to be the first commercial rover on the Moon and the first rover in history to explore the lunar South Pole, while enabling the first sale of space resources in human history alongside many other firsts. Each of our next four rover voyages build on our capabilities and technology, all leading towards mobility and robotic systems that can reliably operate in the most extreme environments our solar system has to offer.

“First private US robotic lunar rover lands successfully on the Moon. Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform by Lunar Outpost landed near the Moon’s south pole after eight days. A small but rugged robotic Moon rover developed by a Colorado company became the first commercial exploration vehicle to touch down on the lunar surface on Thursday.” The Guardian Read more: https://lnkd.in/gdYt5umB #TheNextLeap #LunarVoyage1 #LunarOutpost #SpaceTech #MoonMission #Innovation

Lunar Outpost’s Lunar Voyage 1 MAPP rover successfully made it to the Moon, collected data from the lunar surface and in transit, and proved that MAPP was ready to drive. Throughout LV1, the Lunar Outpost team and our MAPP rover accomplished over 30 key milestones, from being the first US teleoperated rover operated on the lunar surface to flawless performance of our Stargate Mission Control Software. Our Lunar Voyage 1 MAPP rover successfully made it to the Moon, collected data from the lunar surface and in transit, and proved MAPP was ready to drive! Intuitive Machines landing on its side prevented MAPP’s deployment. Our data paints a clear picture that MAPP survived the landing attempt and would have driven on the lunar surface and achieved our mission objectives had it been given the opportunity. We look forward to our upcoming missions – including exploring Reiner Gamma (Lunar Voyage 2), heading back to the South Pole of the Moon (Lunar Voyage 3), and having the first Australian rover mission to the Moon (Lunar Voyage 4). With our capabilities clearly demonstrated in space, we look forward to further showcasing what our mobility systems can achieve. Thank you Nicola Buck for attending our launch! We are excited to be collaborating with Castrol on our Mission Control for LV1.
Lunar Outpost's MAPP rover and its payloads, including MIT Media Lab's AstroAnt, are in the final transit phase before landing on the lunar surface. Our very own Nicola Buck, SVP Marketing, has shared her experience from behind the scenes at the rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, in Florida, last week. Watch out for more updates as the MAPP rover reaches its destination on 6th March! #Castronomy #ToTheMoon #LunarOutpost #MITMediaLab
