Giving humanity a platform in Space to benefit life on Earth.

About us

Sierra Space is building a shared ecosystem in space for scientific collaboration and innovation to benefit life on Earth. With technologies that make space more affordable and accessible, we’re dedicated to creating a prosperous and secure space economy that will benefit all of humanity. Rapidly advancing toward the launch of the next generation of space transportation, the world’s first commercial spaceplane, Dream Chaser®, will perform cargo supply and return missions for NASA - delivering up to 12,000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) at a time. Sierra Space is also the developer of the Large Integrated Flexible Environment (LIFE™), a modular, three-story inflatable habitat that we are developing as we build the first commercial space station. The unique structure will provide opportunities for multiple businesses including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors, to optimize zero gravity benefits.

Honored. Humbled. Grateful.   Attending the Denver Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Awards Dinner was an incredible experience, and I’m beyond grateful for the recognition. It was made even more special to celebrate the evening with my wife, mom, and dad, who have supported me every step of the way.   To my wife Catherine Kopacz, CPA - words cannot fully capture how much you mean to me and how integral you are to my journey. Your unwavering support through the long hours, constant travel, and inevitable stress has been my rock. You manage to balance everything with grace and strength, allowing me to focus on my career while knowing our family is in the best hands. Your encouragement, patience, and love are the foundation upon which all my achievements stand. I couldn’t do this without you, and I am eternally grateful for everything you do.   To my parents Joseph H. Kopacz, PMP, GC and Annette Kopacz - Your belief in my potential and your constant encouragement have been the driving forces behind my success. From the countless hours you spent helping me with homework to the sacrifices you made to ensure I had the best education; your dedication has been unwavering. You instilled in me a love for learning and a determination to overcome any challenge. I owe so much of my success to your unwavering belief in me, and I am forever grateful for the values and work ethic you have imparted to me.   Finally, I want to thank Hall of Fame Winner Robert Cohen, who delivered an inspiring message about the leaders who shaped Denver’s future. He spoke of the visionaries who connected Denver to the transcontinental railroad, ensuring the city's survival and growth, and those who had the foresight to build the reservoirs that provide clean water to this day. His speech was a powerful reminder of the legacy we inherit and the responsibility we carry. As we look to the future, we must ask ourselves: What will we do to ensure Denver’s continued prosperity? How will we contribute to the growth and well-being of our community? It is up to us to build on the foundations laid by those before us and to create a future that is bright.

Last night, NASA's PUNCH mission launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The mission's four small satellites will observe the Sun's corona and its transition to the solar wind. PUNCH will provide continuous 3D observations to better understand solar wind formation and its effects on the solar system. We are proud to have provided the solar arrays for this mission. • “Our team develops advanced simulation software for the Dream Chaser vehicle, providing a cost-effective, realistic environment for training, testing, and validating mission scenarios. These simulators replicate hardware components, subsystems, and operational environments, allowing flight operators to practice and handle anomalies without the need for a real vehicle. This rigorous simulation process reduces risk, enhances mission reliability, and ensures successful mission outcomes. Working here is incredibly exciting as we are at the forefront of space commercialization, pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation." - Brandon Tiemann, Sr. Engineering Manager Software Simulation & Test.
