We are thrilled to announce the opening of our newest facility in Prosper, Texas later this month! This marks the 7th Legacy ER & Urgent Care location and the 33rd across the U.S., continuing our mission to provide accessible, patient-centric healthcare to communities in need.   At the heart of this development is Jay Woody, MD, FACEP, co-founder and chief medical officer of Legacy ER & Urgent Care and Intuitive Health . Dr. Woody, a board-certified ER physician and long-time resident of Collin County, has dedicated his career to addressing the gaps in emergency care. After years of witnessing patients face long wait times and high costs for non-emergent cases, Dr. Woody helped pioneer the dual-model approach, combining ER and urgent care services under one roof.   This innovative model has been a game-changer in the healthcare industry, offering appropriate care levels at reduced costs and minimized wait times. In 2017 alone, 80% of the 85,000 patients treated at Legacy ER & Urgent Care facilities were billed at the urgent care level, saving patients and employers $20 million in unnecessary ER charges.   Dr. Woody's vision, rooted in his personal and professional experiences in Collin County, has created a lasting impact. The Prosper facility is yet another testament to his commitment to revolutionizing healthcare access for all.
